This is what healing looks like. Sometimes it is painful, unclear, and daunting. Sometimes it feels like it will never end. ... Working in the field I do I have the opportunity to witness healing in so many ways, each unique in their needs. Not all avenues work for everyone. Some times it is a dance off, sometimes it is a silent or lonely process, other times it is soul wrenching heart ache or the opposite, complete apathy and numbness. I service a lot of front line workers and others who offer mental health services. It is important to have a team to help those in these fields know they are backed up by their community, that they have a safe place to land and a place that is not judgmental and supportive so they can continue the valuable work they do. Those of us offering services to others, especially in extreme times, need to ensure we are doing all that we can to tend to ourselves so we can be present for others. Sometimes thats through our practices of mediation, through proper fuelling diets, time in nature or avenues to shake off all that we carry. Sometimes we just need to take the time to attend to the emotions and fears that come up for us. Sometimes we don’t even need to know what we are processing, its like a wave of emotion that floods us just enough to find its way out. There are many practices that help support us in the work that we do, some simple and others complex, finding what works for each of us is key! This is me some days, attending to my own healing, my own fears, the collective fears and sorrow that can come up in life, being human can be hard sometimes. Even though some days are more daunting than others, I love it, all of it! I love how it builds me to better versions of me, how it gives me a deeper foundation, how it affords me the understanding of what others may be going through, it all helps me to be a better beautiful human and practitioner. I have learned to walk the walk, my own walk, we are all equals doing the best we can. I have been in the social work, mental health and teaching fields my whole life, it was imperative to find ways that would allow my service to not take me down with it, to find keep my system from being bogged down and learning the fine art of letting things pass as they need to. To ride the storm in the way I want to without missing all of the opportunities for my own growth as a person and as a practitioner. It’s a beautiful dance with life and sometimes the tears are needed to lubricate the dancing joints. Then again, somedays its just about listening to loud music, and letting my being dance itself into a new day of service. This is a shout out to all of you doing your beauty work and finding what works for you as navigate your life and exquisite unfolding to who you are becoming. Rev Shaman T Note: pictures are not from today, just so you know ;)

There are many ways to get the benefit of meditation. It is not just about thinking about "nothing". For many of us it is about choosing something that allows us to hyper-fixate or go into the "zone" if you will. ... Runners get this, artists when they are knee deep in a project, people who do puzzles, or sing, or play an instrument for just the sheer pleasure of it. Being in the moment with your craft, what ever it may be ( and PS, you don't need to be good at it to get feel good results) can deeply reduce your stress levels, give your mind and body a break and afford you some time to just be, in creation with life. These kinds of activities have great healing medicine. I hope you find a few versions that bring you peace and joy daily. Maybe it is time to explore a few new activities to allow your senses to play! So get out those puzzles, craft supplies, instruments, models and activities of many kinds. May you each find your heart centred activities. Rev Shaman T

Things I love about my life - Excerpt I’m sitting here, on our back deck. It’s small, just big enough for perfection if you ask me. ... I’m sitting here just being. I’m holding my wife’s hand while we look off into the trees and the beauty in the yards as the birds and the chipmunks flit by. Both species are being fed by my parents up at the front of the house, an all you can eat buffet from some little boxes they have set up for just that need. Chippy, (all chipmunks have that name I’m pretty sure, at least around here), bounces by with his cheeks packed wide..often. On the upper deck my father is learning the rhythm and words to a new song. He strums his guitar, it sings with him. He does this daily; learns new songs then masters them. Day after day his melodious tones waft the area like a welcome gentle breeze. His voice adds grounding to the forest animals that venture by, the trees dance in the glistening sun as it dapples the leaves below the canopy. Happy clouds roll by to get a closer peek. His soft singing and expanding his learning is peaceful to me, in more ways than I can even begin to explain. And in likely more ways than I know of now. In the background of the music, my mother is fussing in the kitchen off of their deck. If there was a steady stream of people to feed she would be in her glory. She is stirring a new creation into existence with her kitchen magic. She is utilizing vegetables that were gifted to us by my wife’s mother. The smells wafting from the patio screen sooth us all with a mix of calm and excitement. Sharing of the sacred food will happen soon enough. The spices fill the air with aromatic love. I close my eyes to have my soul feel this moment, to drink it in, to commit it to memory for when even harder times come. My body considers napping, and slipping into a dream. But I tell my attention to stay present here, to surrender in this moment. There is no dream that could be as fulfilling as this moment is, right now, in this life time, holding her hand. A tear of sentiment trickles down my face. I do that a lot, let my eyes seep the beauty of sentiment of a moment down my cheek. Its so fulfilling, perhaps because I spent a lot of time in my past being numb, blocking life out, being overwhelmed with emotion. Perhaps I hadn’t matured enough into my own strengths or to an awareness of the gift of feeling. I am a feeling and noticing powerhouse. I however often feel new and in awe of this life, at this time. I feel added warmth in my body and realize my love is sending extra tenderness to me through our holding hands, I feel her looking at me tenderly. I drink the moment in. I keep my eyes closed. I say thank you in my being. And I breathe. Shaman Reverend T With Teri Kennedy-Swindon, Dan Kennedy,Marvina Kennedy-PeddleMaddy Swindon and Chippy.

If anyone is looking to offload Zucchini's my mama is open to receiving. When I was a kid there was a lovely woman in our community that would flag me down and load my arms with Zucchini's and I would balance them on my handlebars and take them home to my mom. It was always an exciting time, mom would be so happy to receive them and she would plan her kitchen cooking wizardry by eyeing up each precious one. Before long the house smelt of familiar exotic spices (These spices... made their way out the cupboard this time of year, and were distinctive in their aromatics.) The woman who gave me the Zucchinis never spoke English to me as I recall. We communicated very well through our eyes and our grins to each other. I really don't know why the woman yelled out to me, it just started one year and happened for many there after, we were always excited to see each other when she would call me over. I remember being bashful about looking at her before she would call me over; I didn't want her to think that I expected them each year, so I let her decide to yell out to me or not. I was always thrilled to her calling out and I would peddle my bike over so quickly as to not make her wait or change her mind. Maybe all the kids driving by got the same treatment? Maybe they all received the same loving kindness gesture as I did with arms full of her gardening genius. I may never know. Its a lovely thought though, that there are may others out there having a similar beautiful memory about the same person and her giving nature. Someone who did something perhaps seeming so little that has an impact so lovely that someone remembers it as some of the best parts of their memories of their childhood. Certain memories keep me rooted in who I am. They help me identify who was influential to me, especially those that may never have known how valuable that moment was to me. Today I give thanks to the beautiful soul that flagged me down to share her abundance so that I could return home a hero to my mother, and that my mother would create healing in our home as the smell of those familiar spices radiated out into the neighbourhood. This is certainly a long winded way to say, if you have zucchinis that you can't use, I know where to take them and they will be appreciated and utilized. Also thank you Maddy (Teri's mama)for the ones you sent over a few weeks ago. She has the "fall baking bug" now lol Shaman Reverend T

Enjoying this beautiful piece. I want to give thanks to the cartoons that featured classical greats and gave me the opportunity to day dream and be taken to the most wonderful places through this kind of music and for it to give me what I need some days. Also thank you to them for making some of the memories be of Bugs Bunny twinkle toes into the garden or the like or doing something silly or fantastic, brilliant!... Perhaps take a moment if you are inclined to and close your eyes and have a listen, let the music guide you where your system wants you to go. I wonder what will come up. Sometimes for me its calm and wonderful, other times tearful and releasing, and others filling and feisty. Either way for me its always what I need. May you have a blessed day. Enjoy. For my last assignment for my Clergy Reverend training we were asked to answer one final question. I thought maybe our Pachamama’s people might be interested in my submission. There were so many options I could choose as my answer, but I kept coming back to the foundation of this response. ... The question is. If you had the ability to give a precious gift to the world, what would it be and why would you choose it? I decided to write my answer this way. May each being on the planet know their worth and their value. May you remember how truly stunning your unique incarnation is. May each soul know how to reside in awe of themselves and their beauty. May you allow yourself to radiate your uniqueness to the world. May you allow your beauty to break free from any binds that may be holding it captive. May you fall in love, head over heals all in, in-love with your unique incarnation in this life-time. And may you be in the deepest awe of the beauty of you, and the beauty of those you walk this earth with. May you continue to remember who you truly are, and may you be best of friends with what you find. This is the precious gift that I would choose to give to the world. If my life was filled with magnificent opportunities to witness people truly remembering who they are, then what a great life it would be. When people remember their worth and value, the other issues plaguing the world begin to decrease. We need not compete with each other, take advantage, defer, hide, destroy, belittle or hoard resources from each other. We will know we are enough and have everything we need. Our antics to deny ourselves, or punish, or avoid punishment begin to fall away. We begin to want to spend our days in peace, calm, and joy, for we are not separated from ourselves and we can stop playing games to separate from others as well. We can see the good in others because we have taken up residency in the good in ourselves. We remember we are abundant and have plenty to share. We remember that it is sacred to sing, to dance, to sit in solitude and to rejoice with what we have. We re-join the true depths of humanity and mercy; we allow ourselves and others to walk in grace. Today was perfect timing and energy for a sweet ceremony to honour the cement floor in the studio being removed so that a proper strong and level foundation can be poured and refloored. The flowers were a gift from a friend of Pachamama’s last week and were utilized to add the sweetness of life and community loving offerings and beauty and connection with the earth. There are seeds that have been added to honour joy, grace, new becomings, health prosperity and perfect inter...actions and assistance. I’ve added items to represent thanks to the elders and wise ones that guide us and support us, hearts for connections, love, honouring, gathering and the like. Sparkles for delightful and graceful divine love and excitement and happiness. So much more in here. I honour the process of digging up the old to let it be free and heal and the space and to allow a new foundation build on joy, beauty and strength, and loving health and wellness. I call in the perfect new and allow peace and calm and child-like laughter and joy to take up residency. We build a space for our fellow noble friends to feel safe, heard, honoured and celebrated. I look forward to growing into even more beautiful powerful beings with you! Thank you for contribution to this life. Thank you for sharing in my ceremony. Shaman T
