From Gord Spruyt You said you needed some more content for Facebook. Here you go! The wing was warped from the covering squeezing it over it life. Peeled it off, straightened and repaired everything, now refinishing it. Decals will probably be on it next week. I'll send some more pictures when it's finished.

Hey guys I'm starting to get desperate for content - even going into some older builds - SO PLEASE send me something to post. Thanks Larry L.

On another note, I am now going to plug another website, "Flying Lines". Last night Denis C. phone to advise me of an article posted on Flying Lines by Dennis Nunes entitled " Turning to the Dark Side" describing his move to electric powered flying. I'm not all the way through it yet but - so far - I think it is well worth while. Here is the link -http://flyinglines.org/nunes.circulas46ll3.html Larry L.

Weather wise, yesterday was the same as Sunday. The list of participants included most from Sunday and added 5 more heli pilots. Dennis M. was there to run and tune engines, he has had problems getting reliable runs lately, another reason I like electric. Dennis did not fly. Paul B. had both his "Kaos" and the Geiske Nobler. He was unable to get what he felt was a proper (test) run on the engine in the Kaos. He has determined the engine has seen it's last days and pla...ns to retire it. The Nobler ran fine and he got in one flight, his only flight of the day. Ron S. was flying R/C until I got there but had his lines out as soon as I did. A couple things Ron, When doing any maneuver keep the wind at your back and replace all divots. Actually the lines went slack during a lazy 8 but there was "minimal" damage, battery box and the top of the nose. On my first flight I found out why his lines went slack because mine did also, the "wind" direction was different about 10 metres off the ground. I got in my 4 flights using a hard point handle I had bought from Joe Y. I think I like it but it needs to be about 5 mil. wider. I flew 2 full patterns, one with the lines at the width I have been using and one at maximum width on the handle - I'll have to think about that and fly a few more in that configuration. If I flew R/C I would want to fly scale so in my eyes the star of the day was a scale heli flown by Rob McF. It was beautiful! I am hoping he will comment below with a picture and description of his bird. PLEASE. The traffic "jam" was only 1.5 Km long on the way home. Larry L. See more

After freezing overnight, yesterday was as perfect a day as could be - weather wise. Paul B. Dennis M. and Ron S. made the call to go flying at the Mission Wings field. I hadn't flown for about 2 months because the 4 cell batteries I have been using had come to the end of their lives. Before flying them I had four 3 cells (nearly new) from 4 years ago - are they any good? Test - they were still in "storage" mode, charge - they did - lets go flying! I dug out the old (gr...ape) Smoothie and headed for the field. Paul and Ron and Walter and Helmut were there and flying R/C. (I do like Walter's scale RV4.) Before i got ready, Dennis arrived. Short story - I got in my 4 flights with no problems. Ron got a couple great photos. Ron put up one flight with his Ringmaster and his comment was "Do you think I'm ready for a loop?". What do you say - if you think you are, just keep it high. He did - man was it tight, the second one was much better. Before the day was over he was (again) doing wing overs, loops, lazy 8s (his first 8s) and short sections of inverted flight. By getting him back into the hobby did I create a "monster"? At least he is having fun. Paul prepared his Tiger Moth but on tale-off had an engine failure. He later flew a "trainer" (R/C) that Dennis had brought. He then brought out and ran the Geiske Nobler but did no more flying. Paul, would you please post a (before) picture of the Moth. Dennis ended up with one flight on the Yak he got from Jack O. It is powered by between a 29 and 35 made in Russia engine. (That was as close as I could get him to commit.) Darren W. brought out a scale and a 3D heli. There was even a surprise visit from Larry and Barb B. Barb was introduced to 3D R/C by Ron and heli and 3D heli by Darren. She was properly impressed. You know, we had so much fun that they want to go flying again today, so I am currently charging batteries. Larry L. See more
