Congratulations! . Reposted from @vancitybikercouple So... I passed my class 6 road test on Friday. This was a big deal to me! I’ve waited 10 years for this to happen. I’m now one step closer to going on road trips and exploring different parts of the world on 2 wheels! Thanks to my hubby who’s been there every step of the way. And thanks to @pacificridingschool for the amazing program, instructions, and experience. You guys rock! #licensed #10yearsinthemaking #onestepclos...er #girlswhoride #womenriders #bikergirl #pushyourself #onelifeliveit #whywait #beautifulworldhereicome #motorcycles #motorcyclephotography #vancouver #vancouvermotorbikers#hondamotorcycles #rebel500 #cmx500 #hondarebel #couples #rideordie #bikercouple #ridetogether #roadtest #ipassed #restrictionslifted

Reg has taught many PRS alumni in the past 25 years. Reposted from @classrides Think of throttle action as being on a gradient not as an on/off switch. The action is like that of a rocking horse. If you’re rolling on the throttle, you should be easing off the brake. If you’re squeezing the brake, you should be rolling off the throttle, the two actions flowing seamlessly together."... Eager to learn from CLASS before an event? Many key points and skills are outlined in Reg's book SMOOTH RIDING THE PRIDMORE WAY. Check out Reg’s Blog on Classrides.com for more tips.
Reposted from @madelinemillsip The elephant in the room is that I am learning to ride a motorcycle! There's usually two, polarized reactions when I share about it: "Wow that is SO cool, you go girl!" "Wow that is SO dangerous!... I've been hesitant to share, because of the negative side of this spectrum. Yes, motorcycling is dangerous. To not acknowledge that, is to naively ignore the risk. Motorcycling is also a skill. It is different than driving a car. It needs to be learned, practiced, and re-practiced. The learning never stops--humility and recognition of this fact allow you to ride "smart", long term. Motorcycling also opens up a new avenue to explore our province's wilderness. That's the part that calls to me. My goal is to bring you along with this journey, demystifying the world of motorcycling as I share what I'm thinking along the way and how I'm growing as a result. SO! My first share! If you're curious about motorcycling here's a few thoughts on how to get started: Take Lessons. I can't say this enough. It's more than just knowing how to operate the motorcycle itself. It's about being able to identify risks, understanding how your bike will perform in adverse conditions, and knowing how to respond effectively. My parents bought us motorcycle lessons as our wedding gift in 2018 (I have super cool parents), and we took them @pacificridingschool - I would highly recommend. Find a riding partner who is invested in your learning and safety, and who has the patience to "start over" with you. For me, this is my Dad. He lives and breathes motorcycling. And our many travels together means we’ve nailed down how to adventure together. Communicate openly. As you get out on the road, be candid about where you are/are not comfortable. For me, this has led to key conversations that uncovered what skills I need to practice to become a better rider. Treat your riding as "training", especially at the start. This is a recent "unlock" for me. Just like I strive to be consistent in running, I am now doing the same with riding. Getting back on the bike week after week allows me to hone my skills and get in the "seat time required for epic adventure
If you recall your experience at PRS, we encouraged our students to talk to themselves during the course (as a way to monitor and improve themselves) Here’s video from our friend Nick Ietnatsch from the Yamaha Champion Riding School offering some really sound advice - Nick talks about the benefits of Talking to Ourselves. Reposted from @chefdeannadumpling . Thanks to instructors Michelle, Tony, and Reagan at @pacificridingschool for their excellent training in the classroom, on a closed circuit and on the road. . Today I had my restrictions removed from my Motorcycle Learner’s License, so I can continue to practice my skills on our @canadiankawasaki VulcanS 650 ... from dawn til dusk. -... This might look boring to you, but being able to handle this big bike at low speeds, maneuver it in small spaces, do U-turns, quick braking is all part of my foundation as a good rider. - Best of all ... I’m really enjoying the ride and can’t wait until my baby @life.without.a.flightplan gets back so we can venture out together for coffee. - #PacificRidingSchool #TeachingAnOldDogNewTricks #VulcanS #Kawasaki #HangarLife @kazesense #CovidLife #SocialDistancing #GetOnYourBikesAndRide #FatBottomGirls #ChefsWhoRide #GirlsWhoRide See more
