The season is fast coming to an end thanks to the heat and insects. We will be open for u-pick now only by appointment and calling ahead. We will be closing soon. Thanks to everyone who came out this year!!

There were lots of cherries picked this weekend! We will be closed today, Monday July 29, to let more of the cherries ripen. Because of the fruit fly damage, we may only be open a couple more days (Tuesday and Wednesday). If you haven't got your cherries yet... there is still a last chance.

We are opening the middle of the orchard today (Crimson Passion) which is the slightly bigger cherry. We are also hoping there is not as much insect damage in this section. Picking will still take longer as there are various stages of ripeness on the trees and you cannot simply strip the tree. This is going to be another shortened season!!

Hello all to all of our avid cherry pickers!!! The news is not great. More and more insects are invading the fruit this year... both raspberries and cherries. We are closing the raspberry patch. The cherries will be available to pick this weekend, but you cannot strip a tree, the ripeness is variable, and you will have to check for bruising and softness in the cherries because of the fruit fly damage. This means longer picking times and you may still find some damaged ones in your pick. Wash your cherries in a cold water bath .. letting them sit for a few minutes (optionally add some salt and rinse after). The small white worms will float to the surface. Unless the cherry is bruised and discoloured.. the fruit is usable. This just requires much more work and checking this year.
