Lowville Park 2020 Watercolour
When Tom Thomson gave up his work in 1914 to paint full time, he would spend spring, summer and fall in Algonquin Park. It was only in the winter months, around... this time of year, that Tom would return to Toronto. Living in the shack behind the Studio Building, he would paint and hike through the ravine while waiting for the first glimpse of spring so that he could return to the park once again. #ThomsonThursday In Algonquin Park, 1914 Tom Thomson (1877 - 1917) oil on canvas 63.2 x 81.1 cm Gift of the Founders, Robert and Signe McMichael In Memory of Norman and Evelyn McMichael
