Endurance at Mohr Island.
I have started working on the first part of a two-part commission. When the weather deteriorates I will find it easier to tackle the job.
It was a gray rainy day here in Ottawa, so I finished the painting "Just because." The yacht is a Sigma 33 OOD from Scotland. I saw the original photo in a Face Book post. The painting is acrylic on Masonite 16" x 12". It is signed, but not yet varnished.
My father's Westsail 32, "Chinook" Hull No. 330, moored in front of my parents' house on Mill Bay, BC. I did the painting for my brother with whom I sailed up the California coast in June 1976 and crewed aboard Chinook many times later in the Gulf Islands, Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the Georgia Strait. The painting is acrylic on masonite 16" x 12".
The rainy day May first project. I finished "Northern Lights," a painting I started at Red Pine Camp two years ago. I am now happy with the light in the sails. The yacht is a 22m2 Skerry cruiser. It is acrylic on canvas, 20" x 16".
