Discover Oil Painting! Class limit 88 students. Artists have been painting with oil paint for hundreds of years, and oil paint continues to be popular worldwide due to its versatility, quality, and rich colour. Getting started with oil painting can be challenging, even intimidating. Oil paint is different from acrylic paint: oil-based mediums are different from acrylic mediums, and you may be working with solvents. But please do not think this means you will be working with ...foul-smelling, unsafe materials like turpentine! Oil painting supplies are safe to use and virtually odour-free. Another difference is drying time, which is much longer for oil than for acrylic but this means the time you can work the paint to layer, blend, add, and subtract to your painting is much longer, too! Join this fun oil beginner class to unleash your creativity. Learn about the unique properties of oil paint and mediums, appropriate brushes, palettes, and painting surfaces. Get some really useful tips, especially necessary if you are an oil painting beginner! Take home a finished painting! Classically trained in Eastern Europe, Oksana began her art career in Lviv, Ukraine. Oksana studied at the Ivan Trush College of Decorative Arts.
