Pallet Farm Woodworking 04.01.2021

Here's a sweet and simple modern neutral piece over the fireplace @kutschortho I made a few months ago. I had the amazing opportunity to create a collection of pieces for their redecorating done by @hirschedesignco . I love how she decorates the mantle for each season to suit and it warms up this office space so beautifully!

Anniversary flowers. White roses every year.... plus or minus day...or else. Haha. . We got married up in the old water tower that has been converted into a restaurant. When the wind blows the whole thing sways a little bit! It's the closest thing Lethbridge has to a skyscraper. The grain elevators are actually taller though. We went out for dinner last Saturday to celebrate our anniversary knowing that the @watertoweryql and all restaurants were closing again for inside dining. And so our actual Anniversary came and went and We Both Forgot!!!! Can't believe it and can't be mad about it... It's kind of funny really. I guess we've been together awhile and it's always so busy right before Christmas!!

Ok here's another one! A very special barnwood family piece loaded with history. This is made entirely from the family barn and is being gifted to the parents of this southern Alberta farming family. 5 peaks representing the 5 originals. What a beautiful way to preserve a piece of history and a time gone by. It is one of a set of three. This piece is so cool and my first with golden stubble fields in the foreground and the mountain view looking west. Just like the view out th...eir back door. The little snow line drifted up against a fence line on the horizon and little mountains in front of the big Rockies poking up behind. This piece captures the big sky and western views of southern Alberta. The details....so much care was taken in selecting boards for each mountain and ripping open boards lengthwise to reveal the grain. I found amazing grains for the sky boards and hand mixed colors to create a bluebird sunny day. The stubble field has little specks all throughout that make it look like an actual field! I Love this piece and pretty proud of it too. I'll post the other family members pieces soon! See more

Well I finally reached 1000! Woohoo! Took the long slow and steady road for sure!! Here's a pretty piece to celebrate. She is headed down to Texas for a special wedding gift. The couple visited here two summers ago and loved Lake Louise and now will have this piece of art for their new home from their Canadian family. Thank you all for following! Here's to 1000 more!

Fun times at the Millarville Christmas market the past few weeks! Last day is today!! I've met so many awesome people, sold a ton of woodart, got custom orders lined up for months. I'm in awe of the support of this community for our vendors and artisans especially in these tough times. Everyone came out to shop and we had an incredible market!!! I am also so appreciative of the hard work it takes the volunteers and vendors and market manager to organize and run an event of this size especially with the new health regulations in place. I think we all did an amazing job!! Woohoo! Thanks for another great market Millerville team!!

Here's what makes me happy. A young couple from Scotland stopped at my booth and picked out this piece of art to represent their time here in Canada. They buy a pieces of art from every place they live and travel to. They have been here two years and were waiting for the right piece to speak to them. I am beyond honored that they chose my work to represent there time here. What an amazing feeling that is. AND check out that tattoo!!! So cool.
