In these cold winter days its not just your water pipes you have to worry about freezing. We pulled this pump out of an old house last week. As you can see, the ice expanding inside the pump was enough to split the casing.

Another reminder, if you own a house, or you're looking into buying one, its a great idea to get your sewer camera'd. Here's a piece of pipe we dug up. If the sewer was camera'd earlier, this could have been caught before it was bad enough to flood the customers basement.
