Panta Rei Design

Hot out of the kiln this afternoon, a number of cacti and succulent pots, including this one for one of my echeverias. It’s been almost 3 months of trying to find the right combination of glazes and texture to showcase the plant.

Continuing on the quest for a sunset desert feel. I may need to call the previous set dusk, as this mug feels much closer to the warm golden-orange-reds that signal the end of the day. The heat is palpable, and yet there is also a coolness in the air.

Evening in the desert, when the sun is long gone. The light gives way to purplish hues that flutter across the land. The temperature drops, the shadows rise, and new sounds come to life.

Haworthia attenuata. For some reason, this poor Haworthia kept being put aside when selecting the next plants that needed repotting. After three years, it finally had its turn. I selected a newly fired pot and split out two of the main plants. The plant finally has the setting it deserves. Complemented by a slate-grey granite mix, I like how this one turned out.

A magical, little dragon egg found in the garden today. The shell looks weathered and cracked, though still surprisingly strong, more than likely due to the intense temperatures in which it was created. The inside is a thing of beauty. Super smooth and glossy, reflecting the flowing colours of the scales from the little hatchling. Now, for a glimpse of the little guy...
