Dear Amazing Papergirl Community. We want to thank you all for your support, energy, and love of Papergirl Vancouver. This project has been one that has brought together community on all levels, inspiring the artist in many and offering an inclusive space for people both near and far to participate in the arts. The core team that has been running Papergirl as volunteers have made the decision to stop running the project, not because we don't love it, but because each of us ...have schedules that have become so full that we are not able to dedicate ourselves to the project. The beautiful thing about Papergirl, as said by Aisha Ronniger (the Founder of the project) is that the project belongs to no one and anyone should be able to run the project. We invite those of you that have loved it as much as us to consider taking on the Papergirl Vancouver baton from us, keeping the project going in the Lower Mainland. Aisha also wrote about how it's ok for the project to have a life span, and to celebrate what it has accomplished. Together we are celebrating all the people that have helped make this project run for 5 years, that have come together to make art at our workshops, that have made art and selflessly sent it to the project to be shared with your fellow citizens. Today we are celebrating Papergirl YVR and all that is has done in our community, and putting it out to the universe that it’s memory will live on and who knows, maybe even carried on. From the bottom of all our hearts we would like to thank you for your support and encourage you all to keep the Papergirl spirit alive!
