Paradise Hill Minor Ball 11.10.2020

Ball registration is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11th at 630pm at the Paradise Hill Curling Rink with the AGM to follow at 7pm. Forms have been sent home with students in grades K to 12. If you can't make it to registration night you can drop off your form at Paradise Hill Ranch and Western Wear prior to registration night. ALL forms handed in after March 11th will have to pay a late fee, no exceptions. If you sign up and there is no team for that age group, you will get ...your money back or we will try and find another team from another town for you to play on. If you don't sign up by March 11th because you think there will be no team for your age group and there ends up being a team you will have to pay the late fee when you sign up. Please come out on or before the deadline so we can get teams organized. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact myself, Crystal Schaan, at 306-821-2232 Thanks everyone

U19B Team Opportunity in Lloydminster! Please see the below communication from Brad Lake on behalf of LASA. Hello Ball Families. I am sending you an update on ...the 2020 Liners ball season. This fall I was elected to the Liners Board of Directors and with my position on the board, my focus this year is to ensure athletes have a local competitive option to continue playing softball at the U19 level. Since its inception, LASA has had only a U19A program and my belief is that we have to be very flexible with our athletes to ensure we get the interest needed to support a B program. Historically, this has been an age where we lose a lot of players and there are a variety of reasons for leaving the sport, but I would like to challenge you to reconsider this year with a fresh outlook. My goal is to change the culture and stigma of "just B" ball. We have athletes who are skilled players with great knowledge of the game and we want to build a program that enables them to continue to play competitive softball while maintaining other interests as well. LASA has booked the following indoor dates at the Synergy Vault to hold U19B tryouts. Sunday Jan 19/ 2020 6-8pm Monday Jan 20/2020 6-8 pm Sunday Jan 26/2020 9:45-11:45am Here is my proposal: 1. Come out to any 2 of these sessions to get your name on the U19 player list in any capacity or commitment level. 2. Plan on forming 2 teams for the Lloydminster Ladies League 1 game per week with possible 7pm and 9pm draws. 3. Plan to have at least 1 practice per week with all players. 4. Select 3-4 tournaments for the year and from the 2 league teams we would take 10- 12 players each weekend depending on availability. Current Tournaments listed on Saskatchewan and Alberta Softball websites are: Regina May 22-24 Irma July 10-12 with more dates to follow. 5. Select a team by June 1, 2020 for U19B Provincials July 24-26, 2020 in Medicine Hat, AB. Questions I cannot answer at this time: Who will coach? What are the fees? Diamond allocation? Indoor practice times? I am attempting to reach out to local ball players who would be eligible to register as U19 this season. Understandably, there needs to be a balance among school, sports, part time jobs and other commitments. With that in mind, please consider this an option to continue playing ball in Lloydminster. Please feel free to email or call my cell 780-872-1177 with any questions, thoughts, or ideas. In addition, it is a good idea to follow LASA on their social media platforms to receive important updates and information. Thank you, Brad Lake

Thank you to Cameron Schaan, Dennis Nelson and Steven Fink from Husky Energy, for volunteering their time this Spring during ball season. With the donation from Husky Energy, we were able to purchase new jerseys for all of our teams and we were also able to do some maintenance work on our diamonds. Thank you Husky Energy!

Two of our board members will be leaving us this year. Thank you Melissa Duriez and Terry Monteith for all of your hard work and dedication over the past 10 years. If you are interested in being our treasurer or registrar please let Crystal Schaan know either via text, comment below or private message me. Or if you know of someone who would be great at either of these positions please send me their names! It would be nice to have someone with a baseball background join the board but we aren't picky!!! Any and all help is appreciated. We have 2 meetings a year, one before the season starts in March and one to wrap the season up at the end of June. If you have any other questions about what we do, let me know.
