Accent lights in action.
An update 3 years later on my favorite design. Those gardens are as square and level as the day I laid them. This was right before I cleared the patio and sealed it to really make the colours pop. The dog is a nice addition to the landscape since it was originally built in 2016.
Old walkway, uneven, missy and weedy. Lifted it up, cleaned it, fixed the outer border, leveled and relaid with better spacing and a nice silver polymeric sand. Also built a small box around the hedge in behind to help keep the roots from washing out and securing the top corner of the walkway.
Started out with standard slabs. Buried a gas line, constructed a firepit from natural stone, modern pavers and garden space. Lawn was graded and repaired. Drainage remedied.
Only one more day to go! Looking good!
Finally seeing results to all this hard work!

A 2-3' little hill in the backyard was an eyesore, so we installed a porous rock wall to maintain good drainage and built a shade garden to make the space attractive
Some contractors screwed up the gardens when addressing a flooding problem, so we raised the bed and installed a border
