Curl Ontario has great taste in ice! See you next season folks!

Paris Curling Club 17.12.2020

Recently the Paris Curling Club Board met and decided to keep the club closed for the remainder of the 2020-21 season. Below is a full message from the Board on that decision and goings on. Hello Members of the Paris Curling Club. Just a quick update from the Board. We recently had our November meeting and discussed what will happen going forward this year. As covid numbers are trending in the wrong direction, we as the Board, have made the tough decision to cancel the 2020.../2021 Curling Season. Other clubs have come to the same difficult decision. The PCC has been in existence for a long time. We are financially viable, and not in a bad situation at this point as it is much more cost effective not to put the ice in. This is due to our strong membership, including many longtime members. That said, some of you have asked about supporting the club, we know not everyone can, but if you are able to members can consider signing up as a social member for this year, including paying Grounds and Maintenance fees. A social membership is $50, as is Grounds and Maintenance, so totalling $100 to be a PCC "member" for 2020-21. Any support is appreciated to help cover the costs the club will still incur this year, and help towards future years. Please contact Treasurer Kelley Crowley [email protected] to arrange payment. Any donation would be greatly. Now some news you would have heard in the lounge, in a non-pandemic year, Cassie and Shawn Easton have welcomed a future PPC Member with the arrival of their baby girl Alice in September. Congrats to the Eastons. We've also heard that member Joe Stone had a fall in the fall.he seems to be doing better after some in the hospital. Glad to hear Joe is now on the mend. Heal well Joe. Finally, we as Board want to wish each one of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. The pandemic has really reinforced to us to take nothing for granted and to appreciate every friendship and time to get together. This will pass and we will once again come together on Oak Ave as the Friendliest House in Town PCC Board

Hello Paris Curlers! After meeting, the Board would like to proceed with curling this season, but we need to make sure you want to curl too! There will be lots to still be worked out, but for now we need to see people get registered to tell us the firm interest of our members. So with that, registration is now open! Check your inbox or our website for more information! Please register by September 14th to give us time to pull together everything that may be needed for our meeting of the members on Thursday, September 24th. This will be when we will share the new rules and work done and let our members ask any other questions.

A little chuckle for all of you as we reach the time when, if not for this whole pandemic thing, we would just wrapped up the Last Chance Bonspiel and thus our curling season. Poem sent from PCC member Kurt!
