Park Avenue Community Oven 17.12.2020

We had a good morning yesterday tending to the raspberries and putting in new trellises. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers, we couldn’t do what we do without you! We have uprooted some heathy raspberries for the taking. They are bagged near the tree between the orchard and the oven. When you plant them in your yard, they like sun for at least 8 hours a day. You will also want to trim them down to 12-18 inches above the original soil line (look for evidence of soil on cane to see where that was). Cut them before planting as close to a leaf as possible with sharp pruners. They won’t produce raspberries this year, but let them root and grow, and you’ll have raspberries for years to come! If you are interested in joining us for our next work party, email (Dartmouth garden email) to be added to our email list.

When/if circumstances allow us to reopen the Park Oven, we will let you know here. Stay safe
