If there has been one positive aspect to the pandemic outbreak this year, it would be the amount of quality time we have been able to spend with our pets! Although many reports advise us to stay indoors, taking your dog out for a walk is a safe way for you to provide them with exercise and bonding time. It is also important to remember that your pet does not pose an imminent threat for contracting the virus.... So, make sure to enjoy this special one-on-one time you get to share with your furry loved ones!

We've got puppy fever! Look at all these cuties that have come to see us recently! How lucky are we? It's so important when getting a new puppy (whether from a breeder or a rescue) that you get them checked out by your veterinarian, and discuss plans for vaccinations, flea&tick prevention, diet options, socialization schedules, and basic training! Come see us so we can start your puppy's life off right!

This is a light-hearted picture of a serious danger. The Weiner Dog Police Department and our Veterinary team would like to alert all animal lovers to the peril of leaving a pet in a vehicle. It does does not take much for a vehicle to heat to 50C+ in the summertime; even with the windows cracked and parked in the shade. In spite of increased awareness, there are still hundreds of reports of pets being left in cars each year, so it’s important to know what the proper proto...col is if you come across this situation. Please do not enter the vehicle. Call 911 or 1-833-9-animal and provide them with detailed information so they can do their job accordingly. INFORMATION YOU’LL NEED * Exact location of vehicle * License plate information * Colour and make of vehicle * Condition of the animal * Is the vehicle in the sun or shade? * Are windows up or down? * Is there water in the vehicle for the animal? Even if you're only leaving for a short period, it’s easy to become distracted, which can put your animal in danger. A pet is always much better off at home in a cool, safe area with access to water.
