Be safe out there, this is happening in several close by neighborhoods. If you have information that can help the investigation use the information below to reach out to the police.
In fall 2020 we shared concept options with you for the Future of 16 Avenue N.W. between Crowchild Trail and Sarcee Trail. Your input will help to develop a set... of recommendations for Calgarians to provide feedback on in ‘Phase 3: Reveal’ in spring 2021. After engagement closed, we discovered a technical glitch that prevented us from collecting comprehensive feedback on the Main Streets options in the Montgomery section. We invite you to complete this supplementary survey at calgary.ca/16AvenueNW until January 18.
We were honoured to partner with CBC Calgary this year in their #maketheseasonkind campaign in support of the Calgary Food Bank. On top of the generous donations and drives that helped #cbccalgary raise over $1.4 million, our community collected over 2,100 pounds of food! Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this campaign, especially in a year that had so many challenges for so many people. Posted @withregram @cbccalgary It's time for the big reveal! Can we get ...a drumroll? This year was the year of planning, unplanning and pivoting, but with your support we managed to come out on top, with a total of $1,447,291.42 to the @calgaryfoodbank. From online coffee, sweater and bake sales to virtual cookie parties, concerts, holiday markets and acts of kindness it was sure a year to remember. Thank you to everyone who continued to support given the changes and thank you to the new people and businesses who came on board to support during a year when we needed you most. Here's to hoping we can be reunited in 2021, but in the meantime stay safe, healthy and continue to take care of each other. #cbcfeedsyyc #calgaryfoodbank #calgary#lovecalgary #loveyyc #yyccommunity #yyc #alberta
At approximately noon, on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, the Calgary Police Service Skye Boat and Honour Guard, accompanied by officers from the Traffic Section, will depart the Medical Examiner’s office enroute to the funeral home. The procession will travel east along Memorial Drive, from Bowness to Forest Lawn, where members of the public are welcome to join employees from the Calgary Police Service, who will line the route to pay tribute to our fallen officer.
Looking forward to opening the first #accessible outdoor community rink in #yyc for 2021. Join great partners like @DarbyYoung @Level_PFAgency @Calgary FlamesFoundation @ParksFdnCalgary @Calgary Foundation ENMAX Federation of Calgary Communities in supporting this very special project. @jackcarterimages
Compost your real Christmas tree Option 1: Put your tree in your green cart Cut your tree into small pieces to fit inside your green cart. Make sure the lid can close.... Put extra branches into paper yard waste bags, roll close and set 0.5 metres (two feet) to the side of your cart. Trees that are not prepared this way will not be collected. Option 2: Bring to a tree drop-off December 26-January 31 Tree drop-offs will be available around the city to compost your Christmas tree. Remove all lights, ornaments, tinsel, string and tree stands. Do not wrap or bag your tree. Find a list of locations at calgary.ca/christmastree.
On behalf of the Parkdale Community Association we wish all of you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas. May the Christmas season finish this year on a happy note, making room for a new year that is fresh and light. #yyccommunity #yycchristmas #2020isalmostover #parkdale
Dec 21 is #wintersolstice ! The winter solstice is the day with the fewest hours of sunlight in the whole year, making it the shortest day of the year. Thankfully, after we reach the winter solstice, the days begin to once again grow longer and longer until we reach the summer solsticethe first day of summer and the longest day of the year. #yyccommunity #yycwintersolstice #moredaylightplease #googleknowseverything
