To our valued patients and community: Recently one of our family physicians announced the closing of his practice next year, and we’re aware that the letter to his patients is making its rounds on social media. We want to make it clear that there were several factors that went in to his tough decision to close his practice, including the current doctor-government climate in Alberta; however, ultimately the choice was made for the well-being of Dr. Cloete.... Park Integrative Health supports the wellness of ALL our physicians and allied health professionals. While we are saddened by Dr. Cloete’s departure, we unequivocally support his decision.

Meet Rob Clark, business owner, educator, anthem singer, and PIH Ambassador. We connected with Rob last year as he was amid his weight-loss journey and moving toward his goal of competing in his first bodybuilding contest. We were immediately drawn to Rob’s warmth, kind heart, and authenticity, and we're honoured to become part of his health and wellness team. Here’s Rob’s integrative health story: Up until last year, I had no idea what integrative medicine was. Normally, I ...would go see my doctor if things were bad or unusual and would leave with a prescription. It would help mask the symptoms or the pain, but it never felt like it was fully healing my body. It was a band-aid solution and a reactive approach to health, instead of a proactive one. When I encountered PIH, I was introduced to a new way of understanding what complete, all-encompassing treatment and wellness looks like. As someone who suffers from depression, anxiety, and ADHD, and while I was working towards a bodybuilding competition, the introduction to integrative medicine couldn’t have come at a better time. The integrative approach made sense to me. I began to understand that I needed to work with practitioners who could help me with both my physical health to reach my bodybuilding goal, and also with my mental health. Through the process of working with a massage therapist and acupuncturist, I began to work through my physical and mental blocks this made me stronger in preparation for my competition (postponed due to COVID, but still my goal!), and made me show up better mentally too. I would be remiss if I didn’t specifically mention the help of @drnicolebroadhurst, who was instrumental in helping me accept myself for who I am, and have the courage to come out to my friends, family and network earlier this year. I am eternally thankful to her for that. It hasn’t all been easy, and I am still working towards my wellness goals, but through this process and my experience with PIH, I’ve begun to understand what it means to live an integrative lifestyle. For my journey, it’s changed the way I look at health care, and elevated health as a value for me
