Sidewalk Chalk Surprise! All the PICS staff hearts are filled with an extra bit of love today from this wonderful surprise!

A couple of our amazing staff put a lot of effort to change the front display and we wanted more people to see it! We hope it brings a bit of cheer to your day.

March 20th was supposed to be elementary Crayon Dress-up Day and who says can't still be! We won't force you out of your pajamas but if your kids want to participate, let them choose to wear all one colour today. Take a picture and tag us if you post it. Another great idea is to bust out real crayons and crush some boredom with colouring.

During this mornings devotions at PICS, it was brought to our attention that amid all that is going on currently, our beautiful daffoldils at school decided to pop out of the ground. Of course, they did not do this of their own accord but it was done so by our heavenly Creator. Knowing this, we cannot help think of God's Word in Matthew 6:28-34. And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even... Solomon in all his splendorwas dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe youyou of little faith?So do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. We, as staff, hope you find encouragement in this just like we did.

Fantastic first rehearsal last night with PICS Senior Band & Alumni & Staff - tickets for the PICS Dessert Concert are $10 and will be honored for a future date if the event is post-poned. Stay tuned!

Our PE 20/30 got to go on a curling trip! Based on the smiles, it seems like they enjoyed themselves.

Basketball playoffs continue this week: On Tuesday, March 10, the varsity girls are in the Tier 1 Premier Bronze Medal Game @ 4:15 at Vernon Barford School and the JV boys are in the Tier 2 City Gold Medal Game @ 4:30 at Vimy Ridge Academy. There is a $2 (cash only) admission fee for the boys game. On Wednesday, March 11, the senior girls play their provincial qualifier against Calgary French & International School in Olds @ 4:15.

The girls did it!

Hi all! The senior girls have qualified for the Division 3 Championship Game! The game will be against Austin O'Brien at 4:00pm at Ross Sheppard on Saturday, March 7. There is an entrance fee of $5 (cash only, under 12 is free).

Playoffs continue on Tuesday and Wednesday for Penguins Basketball! Junior girls play @ 4:15 at Riverbend today, and tomorrow the JV boys play @ 4:30 in the Igloo, junior boys are at Millwoods Christian @ 4:15 and the senior girls play @ 5:30 in Ardrossan.

Yesterday the junior high students were able to hit the slopes at the Rabbit Hill Ski Resort! I think it's safe to say that a fun day was had by all.

Monday, March 2 is a big day for PICS basketball. The Igloo will host a playoff triple-header! The JV girls play at 4:00, senior girls at 5:30, and senior boys at 7:00. Come on out to PICS and support the Penguins!

Last week Friday grade 4 welcomed an interesting visitor to their classroom! His name is Ray and he comes from the Beaverhill Bird Observatory.

Great news! Due the demand for tickets, the drama department has decided perform 'The Jungle Book' for another night, on Wednesday, March 4th. To avoid confusion, if you have already bought tickets, you are not allowed to change the date you are going. These tickets will start selling Monday. If you're interested, please contact your local representative.

Adrenaline Theatre is proud to present "The Jungle Book"! PICS students have been working hard on this production and would love to see you at Horizon Stage on March 5th or 6th. I think everyone had a great day today! Mini-olymPICS this morning and carnival games this afternoon with all money raised going to the Mufu home in Kenya!

Day 4! Were having so much fun today! Grades 10-12 are enjoying a new way of doing lunch box social. They all raised money for a gourmet lunch prepared by the ladies and they are eating all together. Over $2000 was raised!

Day 2 of Mufu week saw everyone dressed in blue and yellow! PICS pride for our school showed strong!

What a great first day of Mufu Week! So many fun activities and so many more to come! The staff fought hard against the students but the students claimed victory once again. Maybe we need to turn some of those students into staff...

What a beautiful place we live! Gr. 4/5 had a chance to get some ice time in today!

The staff got to school early this morning to flip pancakes and cook sausages for over 400 students! High school students are paired with elementary students to help them out and enjoy breakfast together. The smell of syrup lingers in the halls...

The jr. boys basketball team had a great time watching the Golden Bears tonight!

Don't forget about our Coin Race as part of Heart Week! Its running now, right through Mufu day next Thursday! If our elementary classes raise more than $2000, each class will get to have a student (randomly drawn) throw a pie plate of whipped cream into their teachers face on Mufu Day!

Next week we're looking forward to Heart Week! We have fun activities planned all week geared towards raising funds for Mufu Home!
