Clear the clutter! Your trash could be someone else’s treasure! Free-cycle is June 5-6. Put your unwanted items at the front of your property for others to... take. Read the rules at www.sprucegrove.org/freecycle If you have items normally stored outdoors, like sports and gardening equipment, it’s a good idea to put them away during Free-cycle. If you are out looking for new treasures, remember only items at the front of properties are up for grabs. Remember: Help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and follow all current public health orders. Many single parents and families of babies and toddlers live in poverty. This last year Covid19 has made their lives even more difficult. At Christmas time Parkland Pregnancy Support Centre has always helped with holiday treats, food and household items that these families may not get elsewhere. We take many of these items, like having plastic food containers for granted. More than ever it's important to have cleaning supplies to keep our homes safe. But when you are struggling to make ends meet it's the first things to go. Your financial support will help us provide holiday hampers to 50 families this year! Covid 19 not only brought on health challenges but an increase in domestic violence. We need local organizations like Jesse's House to be there to help individuals and families. Our FREE Shop Events are for our families of babies and toddlers to receive diapers, wipes formula, family toiletries baby food, toddler snacks, blankets and baby clothing along with whatever "goodies" we have that day. Today it was Canada Day Backyard Fun Pails (donated by Pay Forward Kindness Society) and Superstore Grocery Gift Cards! These gift cards were possible because we were fortunate to receive provincial money from the Covid19 Emergency Funding Grant - Searle Turton. We are here for you, and our goal is to impact and provide support and resources to local families of babies and toddlers that need it. If you need any items, please contact us. This came up as a memory from last year. Our table display at Little Monsters Swap Meet at the TriLeisure Center in Spruce Grove. This year with the Covid-19 restrictions the sale was cancelled. This is always such a great event, and we disappointed not to see many of you. Hopefully, we can see you all next!

Volunteers are the HEART of what we do! Parkland Pregnancy Support Centre operates 100% by the hands, hearts and efforts of all our volunteers. It was my dream ...that our Centre would provide mothers in our community with a place to call on when they were in need of information, support or practical items to help them take care of their families. This dream is only a reality because of the dedicated volunteers, I couldn't do this without all of you!. Especially right now during the Covid19 pandemic crisis when we are being called upon and stretched more than ever. Our amazing volunteer team didn't shrink back, they stepped up and said: "We're here to serve our community, let's do this!" We are operating by client APPOINTMENT only with our NO contact CARE PACKAGE pick-ups and our volunteers have been busy, busy, busy DELIVERING to many families that are not able to go out. Even those that can get to the grocery stores are reporting some shortages. We continue to provide formula, diapers, wipes, baby clothing and toiletries for baby and families. One afternoon alone we had 17 requests for help! Donation...s of Walmart, Superstore, Save-On-Food, Shoppers Drug Mart Gift Cards and/or Cash (tax receipt) donations would be greatly appreciated. Contact me for more information. With people self-isolating, not being able to get to community agencies or grocery stores for supplies many mothers are looking to Parkland Pregnancy Support Centre for help and the number of families in need has GREATLY increased from the COVID-19 Health Emergency. Thanks to a generous donation from a local school we are also able to provide toothpaste, toothbrushes, bar soap, body wash and deodorant. We are NOT accepting drop-in clients or drop-off baby gear donations at this time. We remain committed to helping families in our community!
