The North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre centre is making pre-release preparations for three young bears - Crumpet, Goldie, and Elky. These young cubs will live in this bigger enclosure for the next 7-months before their springtime release. Don't forget to participate in Tigh-Na-Mara's annual Christmas Toy Drive. Ending on November 25! This year, on Monday through Fridays until Nov. 24, bring in a new unwrapped toy, gift card or cash donation during our Toy Drive Breakfast period, and receive a Traditional Breakfast of two eggs, bacon or sausage, breakfast potatoes & toast complimentary. Or purchase our Traditional Breakfast during this period, and we will donate $10 from every breakfast sold to the Society of Organized Services for their Caring for Community at Christmas campaign. Cedars Restaurant hours mid-week are 7:30 am 11:00 am daily. The Toy Drive wraps up on Nov. 25 with a "Drive Through" event.

Time in nature is time well spent. Trail Trip: Little Qualicum Falls’ 1-hour loop around upper and lower falls. When starting at the parking lot, we recommend walking on the trail that leads to the lower falls first. Once you reach the lower falls, you’ll cross over a wooden bridge and start walking back up towards the upper falls.
