Our applications and bed deliveries have been picking up and we're in need of beds! Join us on September 26 as we participate in Bunks Across Canada alongside o...ur Winnipeg Chapter. Our goal is to build 100 beds that day - 60 in Strathcona County and 40 in Winnipeg. All of this is happening on the same day as the Bunks Across America build in the US where thousands of beds will be built on a single day! Be part of something big and register today! No experience necessary. All tools and training provided! Come for the day or for a couple of hours and help get 60 kids off the floor. See more

With Canada Day approaching, I wanted to make a Canadian flag for the occasion. Part way through the project, I decided to do something different and make the Canadian Maple Leaf 3D. Very happy with the result!

Progress on the antique hand planes. Spent a lot of time over the weekend cleaning the main body of each plane and flattening the bottoms. Next step is to continue to work on each plane body and then refurbish and sharpen the blades. Really happy with the results so far!

I went through some old tool boxes this week and found 2 block planes that were used by my grandfather when he was a carpenter. The black plane is a Miller Falls No. 700 block plane, made by the Miller Falls Manufacturing Co in Greenfield Massachusetts. These Miller Falls planes were made between 1935 and 1964. The red plane is a Rapier No. 11 block plane, manufactured by the Anglo Scottish Tool Co in Gateshead, England, probably some time post-World War 2. Looking forward to revitalizing these antique hand tools!
