Our newest fogger will be used on a regular basis including league play, open play and tournaments etc. This bad boy can do the entire pool hall or bowling alley in under 15 minutes including pool tables, bowling lane areas, bathrooms, entrance ways, lobbies, balls, cues and all other accessories that are handled by customers. This is an additional line of protection that joins the Nano fogger which has already been in use on both floors of our centre for a couple of months now. This fogger is an additional line of defense against Covid-19 that gives our customers another level of confidence knowing that we are doing what needs to be done to keep everyone safe.

To parents with junior league aged players and players from last years league: Good day everyone, I'm Dominick Grenier, one of last year coaches for the Junior Pool League. With the previous directors moving away, I'll be taking over as your new director. I'll have the help of Bill Symons as a director and coach as well.... Junior league will be on Sundays again this year, and our "Open House" will be on Sunday, November 1st from 12pm - 3pm. we will have another one November 8th and maybe 15th same time. For our potential new players, our "Open House" is our registration day where all players are invited to come out and meet each other and our volunteers. If you would like to be part of our league but cannot make the "Open House", please let me know ASAP. Our league start date will be Sunday, November 29th, and practice will start around 11:30am. We are looking forward to another great season! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. It goes without saying that all local covid-19 regulations will need to be strictly followed. Masks need to be worn everywhere in the building except while sitting at your table and while playing. Also, during a match, opponents need to keep 6 feet apart. Those regulations might be adjusted as the situation changes and provincial regulation changes. Thank you, Dominick Grenier 250-465-2967
Great fun at our Weekly 9 Ball tournament a big shout out to Kerri Allen-Aultman Kerri had Several shots of the night and did many combo's on her way to a second place finish. Omg, female players, you’ve come a long way. Too funny!
Schedules are done and ready to go for the Northern Charter Challenge. Please be sure to review all your matches for start times. Team divisions are round robins with two brackets in each. Bronze teams will play 7 matches each with the top 4 from each group advancing to a single elimination final. Copper divisions have 6 teams each with 2 teams from each bracket advancing to the four team single elimination final. We have all precautions in place for your safety including fog...ging the pool hall before you arrive and will be used also during the weekend. We ask everyone to please observe regulations when you arrive, wear your mask, wash your hands, don't touch your face and social distance when playing. If you are seated you may remove your mask if you are eating or having a beverage. No walking around with drinks, avoid the hugs even though we all want to. Thank you in advance for your support, I know together we can get this done and have a good time with our pool playing family. Any questions or concerns, please pm me or feel free to call the office at 705-474-1420 x 3 or contact your charter holder directly. Have a safe drive to North Bay. stay safe and let the games begin! https://compusport.ca/CS/GeneralSearch/Index/8118

The NO2 Tournament held this past weekend was another huge success. Thank you to Marc Brisebois from Sudbury who came up with the format for this event a few years back. Players love playing in the NO2 and Marc does an amazing job organizing and running this event. Marc appreciates all the wonderful comments from the participants as do we. Players participated from Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, North Bay, Ville Marie, Timmins and Oshawa (Durham Region). With so much going on wit...h the pandemic, it was great to see so many smiling faces and laughter between our pool playing family that have not seen each other in quite sometime. To the players, thank you very much for social distancing and mask wearing while you were here, It certainly made us all very comfortable during the weekend. Marc had the table distances set up perfectly to keep everyone safe. The next NO2 will be held in March, stay tuned for the dates to be announced. Silver Division: 1st - Chris Lynham & Bill Symons (North Bay) 2nd - Mark Holmes & Kevin Nolan (Timmins) 3rd - Marc Brisebois & Matt Leblond (Sudbury) Bronze Division: 1st - Luc Leblanc & Real Morin 2nd - Roderick Kearney & Francis Barrette (Ville Marie) 3rd - James Poirier & Brandon McKee (Sudbury) 4th - Butch Maranger & Bob Robitaille (Timmins) Copper Division 1st - Dan Desrochers & Greg Graff (North Bay) 2nd - Stacey Gardner and Leslie Paquin (Sault Ste. It is with much sadness that I have decided to cancel the 8-Ball Rumble this year due to capacity issues for Covid-19 and high positive cases in some southern Ontario and Quebec regions. I regret this decision however I think it is best at this time. With North Bay, Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie having good Covid results so far, Partners will host a tournament with players from these areas only, being a scaled back version of the Rumble with a different name. Please stay safe ...and we hope we are able to get back to normal by February in time for the EOVNEA Provincials in North Bay. Thank you and again, I sincerely apologize for having to cancel the Rumble this year, it affects us all but some things just can't be avoided. Bonnie
The end has come to another great weekend of pool with our friends. Congratulations to all finalists and a huge thank you to every player for attending and being so incredibly supportive. Big shout out to John Weloski and Boomer Braido for bringing your players and being part of the Northern Charter Challenge. I cannot say enough about the outstanding job that staff and volunteers did over the past four days. The podium workers (Kim Tipler, Jeff Tipler) along with referees C...hris Lynham, Bill Symons and others did an amazing job keeping the matches stay on time. Jody Deschamps, thank you for pitching in whenever we needed help as well. The employees that worked so fast and diligently at sanitizing pool tables and accessories between matches were simply amazing. One player commented that they were like little ants running around everywhere lol. Simply put, it was an amazing weekend and together, as a group we were able to pull it off. Every person who came to Partners this weekend played a role in making it a fun and enjoyable weekend for all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Here are a few photos and results
Don't forget your mask.
Here is the general information for the upcoming Northern Charter Challenge (NCC). Because of the Covid pandemic we felt it was best to keep the tournament small and include only players from Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury and North Bay. With it being a much smaller event, we have changed some division rules for both teams and singles and amalgamated some divisions. We will be looking at keeping the times slots set at 50 players at a time as we are currently doing with the night l...eagues. This will allow us to maintain social distancing, keeping players safe while still enjoying a fun tournament with our friends from Sudbury and the Sault. If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to call Bonnie. We will have information available on league nights for anyone who may be interested in entering this tournament. For those who have already entered the Rumble, please be sure that your team or singles entries fit with the changes noted here. Thank you to everyone for being so supportive during this pandemic. Keeping players safe is our top priority. I also appreciate the input from John Welsoki from New Crown Music Pool Leagues in Sudbury and Boomer Braido from Black Cat Pool League in the Sault who helped to come up with ideas that would work in making this another great event. We are looking forward to seeing everyone soon, stay safe! P.S. We will also be using the disinfecting fogger whenever we can to give us an extra layer of safety and peace of mind while playing.
Last chance to enter the NO2 is tomorrow if you haven't already done so. If anyone else is interested in playing, please contact me asap. We also have a player from Sudbury (Dan Marcotte) who wants to play in the Copper division but needs a partner who is ranked a 95 TRS. If a North Bay player is interested, please call me right away.
I would like to confirm to all our players that Partners Billiards & Bowling is NOT the business that has a potential case of Covid-19. We have had many phone calls and are assuring our players that we are doing everything that the health unit has advised us to do for the safety of our customers. It is imperative that players and customers respect our guidelines, wash their hands, don't touch your face and wear a mask. We all need to help with this. We would truly appreciate our players sharing this post. We do not want people to be concerned at this time.
A huge thank you to Ray Byers for making items that help for mask wearers. One of the parts made Ray made help keep the mask away from your mouth and another attaches at the back of your head keeping the mask tighter of the wearers face. We have them available at the bar for $2 each, all monies raised will go to the Junior League program. Ray has donated the products. Thank you Ray, your the best!
This new fogger atomizer will be used in the pool hall, bowling alley, bathrooms, kitchen, entrance ways etc. The product being used is certified by Health Canada and the disinfectant stays on the items that are sprayed for up to 28 days. All balls, cues, tables, chairs, pool tables, bowling areas, ball returns, bowling balls, door handles etc. will be fogged to give our customers another level of safety from the virus. The virus will be killed once the areas and surfaces have been disinfected and includes any future contact from someone who may have the virus. We will continue to do whatever is necessary to keep our players and customer safe.

HALF PRICE POOL SATURDAY NIGHT
Another great rule interpretation from VNEA headquarters.
We are looking for two senior division players that are ranked 85-100 that would be interested in playing on Thursday afternoons. If anyone is interested in playing, please call or message Bonnie.
Just cause everyone's doing it ...doesn't mean everyone is Doing It!
So very sad to learn that another one of our beloved pool players has passed away. Paul Pilon, (pictured here with his dear friends Gaston Aubin and JP Proulx). Paul played for many years, mostly in the Monday night Divisions. Kind soul, loving person who always greeted you with a smile and a laugh. He was always easy to find in the pool hall by his signature leather hat. Rest In Peace Paul, you will be missed.
Thank you Cliff Maiangowi for this great fall photo.
Please note that the Leagues are still scheduled for play as per schedule this Monday. As well, Partners will not be opening until 2 pm on Monday to give our employees time to spend Thanksgiving with their families. Wishing all our players a great Thanksgiving weekend. Stay safe!
Here is a reminder regarding the NO2 Annual tournament coming up very soon. The event will take place on Oct 23-25. The final day to enter is October 15. Please be sure and contact me to enter if you have not already done so. All entries need to be paid in full by the 15th. This a a great event! Two player teams playing formats of doubles, singles and scotch doubles. The tournament is a round robin event so everyone will get lots of playing time on the tables.
I had a very good conversation with someone at the Health Unit today. I will announce the news tonight and tomorrow afternoon to the players that will be here. Monday and Tuesday Divisions will be informed of the changes as well when they arrive for league night. It has been quite stressful to say the least dealing with changes that are consistently happening from day to day and trying to keep up with it all. Finally someone was prepared to give rules and regulations in accordance with the Ontario governments policies on the Corona Virus. Stay tuned for the update!! I think all our players will be satisfied regardless of which side of the Covid debate you are on.
