Working in Different Environments with Your Dog I hear from owners all the time "my dog is amazing at home but as soon as we leave the house it all goes out the window". So why does this happen? Why does your dog generally listen at home but no where else? It's their environment. They are comfortable at home & at home is where you do everything with them. There is also less distractions at home so they are more focused.... If you want your dog to listen outside the home, try working with him somewhere new like a in a low distraction field or a parking lot that isn't busy. Even elstsrt by just going in your front yard. Next, keep things simple. Start with maybe just some starts & stops - walk about 6 steps, stop, ask your dog to sit, repeat. You can use their kibble or some high quality treats as well if you like to help you out in the beginning. Eventually though, you will need to wean them off it. You don't want to have to pack treats all the time to bribe them to listen. That's just not realistic. We are camping this weekend so I am taking the opportunity to work with Faith in a different environment

COVID-19 UPDATE Hello everyone, Faith is just as sad as I am about the new restrictions but sadly this seems to be the world we live in now.... I am still offering my services that the new covid restrictions still allow. With this being said, precautions still need to be taken to keep everyone safe: I ask that if you have had signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days of your scheduled appointment, or even a sniffle, cough, runny nose, fever, etc., please please reschedule your appointment for another time. If you have come into contact with anyone that has had COVID-19, has been sick within the last 14 days of your appointment or have traveled outside of Canada, please reschedule. I please ask that you use hand sanitizer. You can have your own or I will be providing hand sanitizer before, throughout & after all services. Masks will not be provided. I will be practicing safe social distancing & ask that you also practice this with me. Pack Walks All Pack Walks are post poned until further notice. Training Sessions Please PM, call or text me to schedule a private session. Private Sessions are $130/hour. Online Training Sessions Please PM, call or text me to schedule an Online Session. Online Sessions are on sale right now for $60/hour. Normally $100. You will also receive a recorded copy of our session so you can review it anytime if needed. I understand some of these decisions may be an inconvenience to some of our clients & I whole heartedly apologize for this. I have carefully considered every option & for the safety of myself, my family & my clients, these were the best options I could come up with to still be able to help all my fellow dog owners. I would sincerely like to thank you for all your support over the years & wish your families all the best in these uncertain times. Adrienne www.passionatepaws.ca

**UPDATE - THE REST OF MY SLIPLEAD ORDER HAS ARRIVED SLIPLEADS ARE FINALLY HERE If you have a dog that pulls, lunges, gets distracted easily or is frustrating to walk, this tool is definitely worth a try. Can be used for small, all the way up to xtra large dogs, one size fits all! I have thinner ones for the small dogs.... They can be used 2 different ways: 1. Sliplead -Loop it over dogs head & position up high on the neck, because any tool around the neck, position matters. The higher up, the more control you have. The lower it is, the more the dog is able to use their chest & their body to pull. 2. Transitional Sliplead - Loop over dogs head, make a figure 8 & loop over dogs nose. This gives you full control of the dog acting like a halter on a horse. I've been using these for years & they have literally changed people lives with their dog. **I can also mail one to you ** Please PM me to get yours today as they sell quick

This is so true. I always say, "it's the little things that make the bigger picture." As small & irrelevant as you think it may be, don't let your dog get away with it.

SLIPLEADS ARE FINALLY HERE The FedEx lady showed up & I never wanted to hug someone so bad! Lol I obviously restrained myself, cause you know, covid. Unfortunately only 1 of 2 boxes arrived so I don't have all my colors yet. Black, navy blue, royal blue, more aqual/teal, yellow, & silver are still on their way. But, these are colors I do have ... Meet Bella, a Rat Terrier puppy. Bringing a new puppy home can be overwhelming & sometimes stressful. You may question yourself & wonder if your even getting off on the right foot with them. Bella's owner called me to make sure they were off on the right start with just recently bringing her home. I got to work with her & her family this past week showing them how to set boundaries & structure in their home. I also covered on how to implement these structures & boundaries int...o their lifestyle. We discussed all the basic puppy problems & I showed Bella's family how to address them. Bella & her family were super awesome to work with & I can't wait to see how she is doing in the future. Bringing home a puppy should be exciting. If you are worried or unsure about bringing home your puppy or maybe you've recently brought home a puppy & feel overwhelmed. Don't worry, i can help. PM the page for more info.
