Pastew Place Detox Centre is a special organization in our community that helps people find recovery in our region. Today, I was pleased to have a socially dist...ant visit with their Executive Director Amber Fort and present their organization with funding through Phase 3 of the Community Grant Funding Program. This is part of Alberta Government’s $53 million COVID Mental Health Action Plan.

POWER GREATER THEN OURSELVES!!! STEP 1: I can’t do this on my own STEP 2: God can help STEP 3: I’m going to let God help me... Today I call upon my Higher Power to reveal to me---my own deceptions. Give me the COURAGE to see myself truthfully so I may heal, grow and thrive through humility. ~~~Bryant Mcgill My Higher Power is SUPERIOR to my DEFECTS, my DISEASE, and ME! Today I will ask my HIGHER POWER to send me His best, and I will trust that all that is good will come to me. I will remember that sometimes we don’t get what we want because God has something infinitely better in store for us. ~~~Melody Beattie God is doing for us what we cannot do for ourselves. ~~~Sobriety By the Grace of God Thank you God for another 24 hours. Let us all pray for those alcoholics and addicts that are still out there suffering. May they find PEACE & HOPE in Your presence. AMEN! ~~~Sobriety By The Grace of God

CHANGE When you are going through hard times, remember that you already have everything you need inside of you to bloom again. Trees grow their buds for the spring before winter even arrives so that when the long nights and cold nights do arrive, they don’t need to do anything except rest. People are like that too When you’re going through your own season of winter, know that you have everything you need to bloom within you. You just need to hang on a little more for longer days and warmer nights. Your spring is right around the corner, beautiful friend. And the bloom that’s coming is going to be more beautiful than ever. Nikki Banas / Walk the Earth

It’s rewarding to stand your ground. Only YOU will have YOURSELF for the rest of your life! 2020-Brady Summers
When babies take their first step and then fall on their bottoms, we praise the first step. We don’t criticize their fall I think we adults could learn a lesson herewe spend more time criticizing our falls and not enough time applauding our small steps. Soulseeds- May 12th 2019
NA Just For Today Daily Meditation May 11, 2019 Balancing the scales Page 137 "A lot of our chief concerns and major difficulties come from our inexperience with living without drugs. Often when we ask an old timer what to do, we are amazed at the simplicity of the answer." Basic Text, p. 43... Finding balance in recovery is quite a bit like sitting down with a set of scales and a pile of sand. The goal is to have an equal amount of sand on each side of the scales, achieving a balance of weight. We do the same thing in recovery. We sit down with the foundation of our clean time and the Twelve Steps, then attempt to add employment, household responsibilities, friends, sponsees, relationships, meetings, and service in equal weights so that the scales balance. Our first try may throw our personal scales out of kilter. We may find that, because of our over-involvement in service, we have upset our employer or our family. But when we try to correct this problem by resigning from NA service altogether, the other side of the scales go out of balance. We can ask for help from members who have stabilized their scales. These people are easy to recognize. They appear serene, composed, and self-assured. They'll smile in recognition at our dilemma and share how they slowed down, added only a few grains of sand at a time to either side of the scales, and were rewarded with balance in recovery. Just for Today: I seek balance in my life. Today, I will ask others to share their experience in finding that balance.
Grapevine Daily Quote April 30 If the Fourth Step is the exploration of an abandoned house, I have come to think of the Fifth Step as raising the blinds and throwing open the windows. The house has air and sunlight now, and it's no longer haunted. When people come to the door, I can welcome them without shame, and I can even invite them in. Some rooms are private of course, but none are secret, and I live in all of them. New York, New York, May 1999, Sunlight and Air,, Spiritual Awakenings
Although I have been facing many trials, I must remember I have also overcome many trials. I will overcome whatever struggle comes my way. I will do it with my head held high, My shoulders back,... Determination in my soul, With pure intention, And with love in my heart. I am stronger then you or I think! ~Lorraine Russell~
May 13 Onward on the journey The progression of recovery is a continuous uphill journey.... Basic Text, p.83 The longer we stay clean, the steeper and narrower our path seems to become. But God doesn’t give us more than we can handle. No matter how difficult the road becomes, no matter how narrow, how winding the turns, there is hope. That hope lies in our spiritual progression. If we keep showing up at meetings and staying clean, life gets... well, different. The continual search for answers to life’s ups and downs can lead us to question all aspects of our lives. Life isn’t always pleasant. This is when we must turn to our Higher Power with even more faith. Sometimes all we can do is hold on tight, believing that things will get better. In time, our faith will produce understanding. We will begin to see the bigger picture of our lives. As our relationship with our Higher Power unfolds and deepens, acceptance becomes almost second-nature. No matter what happens as we walk through recovery, we rely on our faith in a loving Higher Power and continue onward. Just for today: I accept that I don’t have all the answers to life’s questions. Nonetheless, I will have faith in the God of my understanding and continue on the journey of recovery.
I am enough. I am handsome enough. I do enough. I have enough. I am worthy enough.... I am beautiful. I am lovable. I am a worthwhile person. I am enough! ~Lorraine Russell~ See more
3 years clean and sober guys!!!!! Something great to celebrate! Check this out, such an amazing heart and voice! So incredibly proud of you
Moving forward doesn't mean that the abuse, hurt, wrongs... were never done to us. It just means, that we are not willing to darken our hearts by living the pain, carrying resentments or holding unto negativity any longer. It means we CHOOSE healing and health. :-) Our CHOICE is to have a full-whole heart! Letting go of the past may not be easy but totally worth it!
