Went to Waterton for some time away. Decided that I would do an Astro Shoot by where I was parked. Did a series of pictures facing one way then turned around to see this group with their fire going. A strange sight!! This picture was from my last trip to Red Rock Canyon the first part of October. Okay some people will argue with the statement in the photo. BUT I am not......let me explain. I am a horrible speller, I admit that. Add to that a very slow typist with a very fast mind. When I am doing my social media posts I tend to have a lot of spelling mistakes that I need to fix. In the past two months I have had a lot of strange mistakes in my posts and could not figure it out. To help me with my posts I even added Grammarly to my computer four months ago to help me... with my spelling and grammar. This morning I could not get my one computer to work properly and so I did some research. One post I read went like this "Since adding Grammarly to my computer the cursor has slowed down and changes that I make to my work do not appear when I save it. This causes my work to resemble gibberish". BINGO!!!!! I now know what was happening. As an example one post that came out last week that it was perfect when I saved it, when it was posted I could not understand what it said. So now I have removed Grammarly and will see what happens. I spent my Saturday unpacking frames. Lots of mess to clean up but lots of frames in stock!!!

Early morning run to Home Depot to fix a leaking toilet. Went into the store and they had a hand sanitizing station set-up. Doing my part I got some sanitizer on my hands and went to get what I needed. The good part is that after using the sanitizer you don't need a cart as EVERYTHING you touch sticks to your hands. Bad news is that after driving home your hands will be stuck to the steering wheel till you get them peeled off. Looking over the Sofa Mountain fire. In 1998 a lightning strike started a fire on the Sofa Mountain in Waterton. It was the first large fire in Waterton in many years. Many of the dead trees still can be seen standing but a lot have fallen and are being absorbed back into the earth. The new growth is well on its way to covering up the last of the standing trunks so in a few years it will look like there never was a fire. . . .... It must just about be December!! Every year for the past 10 or so years, about this time of the year, I get a phone call. The first time it happened I did not believe who was calling me. But after a few minutes talking to him and then later meeting him I believed. He is a jolly person, wears a red suit and cap and has a white beard. VERY busy this time of the year he calls to talk photography. You see he takes a lot of pictures this time of year of him and his helpers tal...king to kids. Today he needed my help, in fact he even called twice. You see a number of years ago I was allowed to photograph him and his reindeer as they arrived in Lethbridge. A huge privilege!!!! This year seeing that things are changing because of Covid he wanted to use those pictures. Of course I could never say no. This year I also remembered to ask him directly for my Christmas present. I have heard that the mail is really busy so I did not want to risk sending a letter. I only want one thing, but I gave him two options to get it. I asked for a cabin in the mountains. But knowing that it is hard to wrap a cabin and land I said it would be okay if he just gave me the money for it. So with the update today from the Alberta government, I have made a few changes to the studio. Effective today all indoor studio sessions are suspended till after the New Year All in person classes are still cancelled. I am happy to do on-line courses. I still teach live and you can still ask questions.... Studio rentals are cancelled You can purchase my prints on-line, by Email or by calling me 403-327-1114 I have set-up a very easy to use upload program for printing clients to send in digital files for printing. Email me to ask for a link to be sent out to you. I prefer that you contact me in advance before coming in for ordering and for pick-ups. This will help me to be prepared for your visit and have either the computers ready to go or your work ready for pick-up. As for the past six months I prefer that you pay by Etransfer. I did buy a new credit / debit machine that allows TAP. It can also be brought out to your vehicle. When picking up I prefer if you call me when you pull up and I will bring your order out to your vehicle. The fewer people in the studio the better for all of us. Any questions feel free to ask.
