It’s snowing, I have a home, I’m not hungry, I have money. Even though I’ve worked hard to get to where I am, and I’ve experienced discrimination first hand, I can also recognize my privilege.

"Every person's map of the world is as unique as their thumbprint. There are no two people alike. No two people who understand the same sentence the same way... Engaging in positive self-care It is so important these days to take a step back from the news and ongoing media reports as these can wear us down emotionally. ... Spending quality time with family or friends and noticing the small, wonderful events in life can be uplifting for the soul. I have enjoyed spending time watching these tiny birds build a nest and nurture their family in a coconut birdhouse we have hanging in our back yard. Take time to nurture yourself in whatever way works best for you. You are worth the time and energy!

Helping Children Through COVID 19 Many adults have been severely impacted by COVID 19 and the losses are significant. This might include the loss of a career o...r job, the loss of a loved one, the loss of a sense of connection with friends, the community and more. But children are also experiencing the impact of COVID 19 on their lives. They have also experienced the loss of a connection with school, friends, the community, sporting activities and more. They may be witnessing the toll that stress/anxiety is having on their parents. To add to this is the change of being together with family members for 24/7. Not many families are used to this and although we may love our family dearly, it was often helpful for everyone to have a break from one another and going to work or school provided this for us. The Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute has provided this free video to assist parents in learning how to support their children through these difficult times.
