These new complications brought on by our unwanted, uninvited visitor, Corona, infiltrates all aspects of our lives. Uncertainty pervades so much of what we do and plan to do. No less so for couples in the midst of wedding planning. Months and years of excited planning seem to be in such jeopardy. What's most important is that you and your loved ones are safe. Next is the realization that the core of a wedding is the commitment you make, hand in hand, face to face. Whether th...at happens later than planned because you've chosen to postpone, or on your chosen date with just your witnesses and JP/clergy - the result will be the same, and joyfully supported and celebrated by friends and family because they LOVE you and even more, love you to be safe and sound. The evidence of that is reflected in the pictures below. Remember, you are already living the commitment you will sooner or later speak to the world. The rest is just the party. And oh, what a story you'll tell in years to come! See more

I'm sitting here putting the final touches on a wedding ceremony script for a wedding in 2 1/2 weeks time, and feeling the amazement and joy captured by the words and sentiments the bride and groom have chosen and trusted me with. Those 10-15 minutes, standing face to face, hand in hand, speaking promises of the heart and for a lifetime, ARE the wedding. Everything else is the party. My wish for 2020 is that every couple feels that joy and pleasure as they decide on every detail and plan. Above all, though, HAVE FUN! Don't angst over anything. All that really matters is that tender moment, speaking and hearing the voices of your hearts.

I wish all my couples the very sweetest of holiday magic. I will always be grateful you allowed me to be the one speaking the fateful words, "I now pronounce you..." I was, and remain, honoured that you chose me as your JP. Merry Christmas, and onto the very happiest of new years! Pat

The chill of a late October day was dispelled by the warmth and love surrounding Jessica and Eric as they held hands and vowed their love and commitment to each other and their precious son James. So beloved are they that several guests traveled from out of province and out of country. Such support and blessing speak louder than any Hallmark card. Here's a snippet: "On October 22, 2017, after a day of moving into a new apartment, amid boxes and cartons yet to be unpacked, Eri...c proposed to Jessica. Maybe he saw she could carry her fair share of the boxes and that portended well for a future together. Maybe he did all the lugging and carrying, but she was the genius at organizing and traffic control another attractive trait in a future wife! But, maybe, just maybe, he already knew what she meant to him, and he couldn’t imagine his future without her. So, the fateful question was asked, and answered, and we stand here today that future becoming now. Yet the journey is not yours alone, for you have created your beloved James. He’s smart, funny, happy, and healthy. You now know the unconditional love and selflessness a family requires. Your relationship has endured sleepless nights, childhood coughs and sniffles, and an active, independent toddler, so you can now appreciate the support and care you must provide one another in this journey. Just as you anchor the bookcases to the wall to make your home safe and secure for your little mountain climber, it is the strength of your love that will anchor you all, creating a safe and secure home called family.
