COYOTE WARNING FOR CAT AND DOG OWNERS Coyotes have adapted very well to living in the city suburbs due to loss of habitat. There have been many reported sightin...gs recently in locations thoughout the city including in St. Vital along the Seine River, St. Vital Park, River Road at Minnetonka, in Fort Rouge along Churhill Drive, East Kildonan along Raleigh near the Phoenix Soceer Complex, Kildonan Park as well as a field by the Transcona Trail. Coyotes are the size of a medium dog and have reddish-brown to grey fur. They usually come out from dusk to dawn to hunt but are also seen in daytime. Although they usually prey on deer and livestock, they will also eat insects, dead animals, rabbits, and rodents. Coyotes have been known to injure and kill pets, escpecially SMALL DOGS and CATS.. If you have cats, the safest place for them to be in is inside or in a secure catio while supervised. Dogs should be kept on a short leash to maintain better control and not a retractable one when out walking. Coyotes are timid and can usually be scared away if they approach by shouting, waving your hands above your head to appear more threatening while you slowly back away. You can also carry a noisemaker or whistle. Never run from a coyote or let your dog chase one. The following link is from the Fur Bearer Defenders with advice on what to do if you encounter a coyote as well as how to not attact them to your property.....https://thefurbearers.com//living-with-/solutions/coyotes/

URGENT RESCUE 13 rabbits! Dirty, frightened and hungry. Fed a dangerous diet of bird seed. We were expecting 10 rabbits and instead found 13 packed into cardb...oard boxes. This is a real-time situation. PLEASE READ. These sweet bunnies are safe at SaveABunny now and we're asking for your help and support with a year-end donation. You can also sign up as a monthly donor. It all helps the bunnies. http://www.saveabunny.org/donate We estimate it will cost on average $300 per rabbit to get them all the care they need. Many have bite wounds and other injuries. They need to be fixed and vaccinated against RHDV and socialized. They are beautiful bunnies, but you can see the sadness in their eyes. We really need your help right now to do all we can to help these bunnies heal and thrive. A donation of $500 gives you naming rights for one bunny. There are 8 to be named onsite --all boys. Wouldn't it be incredible to raise $4000 this week? www.saveabunny.org/donate or see earlier FB post for the fundraiser. Thank you! P.S. In the update of the story I will tell you about the 5 females from this rescue and the compassionate, kind help from the Rohnert Park Animal shelter. P.P.S. To donate directly via PayPal, our account is [email protected] To donate directly via Venmo, our account is SaveABunny

Hey #StevieSquad! Remember our sweet fren little Leah @the.strength.of.leah from Peru who has CH and was fighting a big scary infection a while back? Well thank...s to the Stevie Squad she made a full recovery and is doing fantastic!! Can you help her sister Kira? gf.me/u/y7cfay But unfortunately in a 2020 way of things happening, her sister Kira is now faced with a spinal tumor which has caused her to lose feeling in her hind legs The doctors believe its operable and are hopeful surgery will return feeling to her legs and she will become ambulatory again. Leah and Kira’s mom Alison has been out of work due to the pandemic and lockdown in Peru and we’ve been doing what we can to help them get back on their paws and feet. She loves her babies dearly and has spent everything she has on them. If you’d like to donate toward Kira’s surgery and aftercare, please click the GoFundMe link in our bio!! As always, please don’t feel obligated, prayers and positive energy is equally appreciated! Love, Stevie & Mom See more

Help is urgently needed!! We were contacted by someone who is having cats dumped on their property regularly. They estimate they have SIXTY cats now!! This ...compassionate family is doing the best they can to provide shelter and food for these cats but this is a bigger problem than anyone can manage. We desperately need donations of cat food and spay sponsors. We need rescues who can help take some of these cats. We need cat fosters. We need help! Food donations can be made at Pet Valu Reenders or Leo & Co Pet Shop. Spays are around $100 at Gladstone Vet; donations for spays can be made by etransfer to [email protected] If you are a rescue that can help or are able to foster, please message us. See more
