Earlier this year, David Wilson, the Police Chief of Foley, Alabama, retired after 37 years on the job, and his letter to the community was remarkable. He thanked many individuals who had encouraged him and served alongside him. He thanked his family who had sacrificed that he might serve, and he thanked the community. Then Wilson ended his letter with a special thanksgiving to Jesus Christ. He IS my life, said Wilson. I’m so very thankful for the hedge of protection He has kept around me in the 37 years as a cop with the many close calls I’ve had. I’m so thankful that He answered my prayermy daily prayer to keep the officers I’ve worked with my whole career safe from death in the line of duty. Thank you for keeping all my employees safe from death with COVID also. Most of all thank you for redeeming this sinner.[1] Thank God for a police officer who prayed for the safety of his fellow officers every day, and for a God who answered that prayer every day for upward to four decades. Let’s end this year with the reassurance that God answers our prayers.

Into the World Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. 1 Timothy 1:15... On fourteen different occasions, the Bible says that Jesus came into the world. He wasn’t simply born. He left heaven and came into the world. The Lord Himself said, I came forth from the Father and have come into the world (John 16:28). He told Pontius Pilate, For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth (John 18:37). 1 Timothy 1: 12 17 says, I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service, even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus. It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. Only Jesus would say something like that, for He knew His eternal origin and His divine mission. The apostle Paul picked up on this phrase when he gave his testimony to Timothy, saying, This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief (1 Timothy 1:15). Jesus came into the world, that He might come into your heart. And He comes into your heart that you might come into His kingdom. The apostle John wrote, In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him (1 John 4:9). That’s God’s gift to us.

(Genesis 10:32) This is the concluding verse of the tenth chapter of Genesis, known as The Table of Nations. It tells us that all the original nations of the world were formed from the descendants of Noah. The basis of this worldwide division was their dispersion at Babel (Genesis 11:9), every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations (Genesis 10:5; see also 10:20 and 10:31). Lest anyone think this list of original nations is simply folklore, he should remember that William F. Albright, probably the greatest archaeologist of the 20th century, called it an astonishingly accurate document. Many ethnologists still speak of Japhetic, Hamitic, and Semitic peoples and languages. But what about the origin of races? One searches the Bible in vain for this information, for neither the word nor the concept of race appears in the Bible at all! There is no such thing as a raceexcept the human race! Skin color and other supposed racial characteristics are mere recombinations of innate genetic factors, originally created in Adam and Eve to permit development of different family characteristics as the human race was commanded to multiply and fill the earth (Genesis 1:28; 9:1). Race is strictly an evolutionary concept used by Darwin, Huxley, Haeckel, and the other 19th-century evolutionists to rationalize their white racism. But from the beginning it was not so! And I don't mince words. I say what I mean & mean what I say. I'm a Texan. What can I say! I believe that right is right & wrong is wrong and there is no inbetween. And I'm as guilty as the rest of us for having broken every one of the 10 commandments during the course of my life. But, Jesus loved me anyway when I repented of my sins and He save me too. You are correct in saying, "It's a win-win situation" regardless of how it ultimately ended when you've accepted Jesus as your Saviour & repented of your sins. I still repent every day, for I am the least, most imperfect of all vessels of God's children. But, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He loves me. And He knows I love Him. We talk all the time. Not out loud, but in the heart & mind. When I was told I had 3 months to live; not because of the brain cancer, but because of the rate of the brain swelling...My Radiology Oncologist pleaded with me to take the corticosteroids she'd prescribed to reduce the swelling in my brain. I flat refused. I told her I had MCS as it was & that alone changed the chemistry of my brain. The corticosteroids on top of MCS made me too aggressive & I just was not going to put my family through that again. I'd rather die first. She then tried to persuade me to have brain & ling surgery to remove all tumours from my body. I again refused, saying, "Even If I even lived through those surgeries, there is no telling what I'd be coming out of brain surgery like and I'm not going to put my family in a position to have to decide to pull the plug if I become comatose. She understood as she looked down at the floor. God gave me the opportunity to witness to this young Doctor at that moment and tell her how much I loved her for caring enough to try to save my life. But that regardless of whether my body lived or died, my spirit would live eternally with God. I thanked her for freeing me of wondering how long I'd have to wait to make my destination to my Lord and Saviour and for that I would Love her forever. We broke the cardinal rule and hugged each other as she said, "I will definitely give thought to the words you have spoken here today. Thank you I said and God Bless You! And we left with out another word.

The seven-acre estate has nine bedrooms, a guesthouse, a teahouse, a tennis court, a swimming pool, an elevator, and a gym. Perhaps that was the right move for them. ... Recommended Reading: John 14: 1 4 Jesus made a different move. The Prince of Peace left the royal throne of heaven on a mission to provide redemption for the world. When He came to earth, He didn’t inhabit a mansion in Jerusalem or dwell in an expansive villa in the Roman world. He lived in poverty, worked with His hands in the blazing sun, traveled as a preacher without a pillow for His head, and died without a shekel to His name. All of that so we might inherit mansions in the heavens! The Bible defines the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ as thisthat though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). What a Prince! Hallelujah, what a Savior!

Dropping off some books this morning on consignment at the Lighthouse Bookstore in Fredericton and saw I Had Cancer and Won on the bookshelf for the very first time.
