Taking on 2021, here are some tips that we are implementing to transition into the new year and keep our home office in tip-top shape. Tidy up the home office Minimize the desktop clutter (and stress) by sorting through your various papers and deciding whether they are needed (stored in folders) or can be recycled. Clean out your email inbox first thing each morning, noting which, if any, messages require action.... Maintain To-Do Lists Maintain a list of things to do, prioritized daily. Whether you are comfortable enough to maintain your list on an electronic device or prefer something more visible (such as a whiteboard or sticky note on the side of your computer), it must be amenable to daily updates and prioritizing. Try Time Blocking Schedule chunks of your time to focus on specific activities. For example, schedule non-negotiable activities early in the day or week. Group together similar tasks, use tech tools such as Google calendar or a timer to signal time to change blocks. Schedule Your Down Time It is essential to take care of yourself. It would help if you had time to recharge your batteries. Schedule shorter breaks throughout the day and longer personal blocks of reading a book, engaging your hobby, or take a walk in nature. Throughout 2020 many of us had our routine disrupted. Strong December activity brought Metro Vancouver’s* 2020 home sales total in line with the region’s long-term annual average....
