My eye is always spotting things of wonder as I move through my day. Im working on the intention of capturing these moments in photos. - I call this series Catastrophic Beauty - Through the day to day human consumption and the desire to continually improve our surroundings - our creature comforts leave behind a wasteland of disposed potential. ... - I can see my own home renovation on this heap of concrete which towers our city, but just on the city limits so we dont have to see the cost of our growth. - I can see beauty in its roadway. As we drove its long meandering path to the top of concrete mountain I observed so much beauty in its form and skill. - I feel an impending responsibility- I always have. When running the water too long. When adding too much soap to my hair. Heres the thing.. art sometimes just works out the way it does for me. A good friend of mine ( @readwatchlisten ) often has to remind me to stay out of judgement of my own process and outcomes. If this sounds familiar, yes, I will say this same thing to my students. BUT MAN it is hard. I like this..it turned out way different than I had anticipated.. its different for me. That is okay too. Sometimes different is a learning and sometimes it is a gateway to new. just create and shut it. Lessons to be learned from a creative person....
