Operation Freedom Paws Canada and I have teamed up to run a Calendar Contest in June-July with 100% proceeds going to OFP Canada. Read more about this fundraiser and how you can help. Please help us spread the news about the contest by sharing this post on your social media. I am pouring my heart into this project to help OFP Canada raise money so that they can help more people. You can do the same.

Operation Freedom Paws Canada is a Fanny Bay based non-profit organization that teaches veterans, first responders and others with disabilities to train rescue dogs to be their own service dogs. At the end of their training these dogs and their handlers become certified service dog teams under the BC Guide Dog and Service Dog Act. Doing so, they rescue both ends of the leash! OFP Canada and I have teams up to run a calendar contest this June July to create a 2022 calendar featuring Vancouver Island dogs with 100% of the proceeds going to OFP Canada. Stay tuned for more information coming out soon! You can help OFP Canada right now by growing their audience. Please follow them on Instagram @ofpcanada and Facebook and share this post widely!

These two handsome bandits are Joey and Dexter, both rescue dogs from California. Joey was found wandering the streets of LA. Dexter was rescued from a farm that raised dog meat for a restaurant. He had been intentionally fattened up for dog meat dishes... I get sick even thinking about it. But these boys got a second chance and now enjoy life here on #vancouverisland. Their owners wanted to celebrate their puppies with a photo shoot on Joey's adoptiversary. Joey and Dexter look like they own place - rightfully so as this forest is their back yard. The wall piece made of this image will have so much love packed into it! The funny thing is that Joey with his bushy eyebrows looks like our family friend in Toronto. I will have to show him what he would look like if he were a dog!
