One book that really influenced me, and I reference it at least a few times a month is called 'The Ultimate Sales Machine by Chet Holmes'. Chet Holmes was the go-to guy to help drive sales at any company for Charlie Munger, Charlie is Warren Buffet’s business partner with a net worth of $1.8B. Unfortunately, Chet passed away in 2012 but his teachings are still alive today. From Chets testing, he said that your target audience will fall into these categories. 3, 7, 30, 3...0 and 30%. Most of us focus on the ‘Buy Now’ customer which makes up the smallest percentage at 3% of total potential customers available, and ignore or don’t focus on the other categories which make up a very large group of potential customers waiting for you. What percentage of potential customers do you focus on? Your website is a great tactic to use if done right.

You’re lucky your website doesn’t talk back, because if it did, I’m sure you’d get a mouthful. Seriously, if you asked your website if its happy working for you, what would the answer be? Maybe you’d hear stuff like ‘SCREW YOU, YOU SUCK, YOU DON’T TREAT ME RIGHT, YOU HAVEN’T BOUGHT LUNCH FOR ME IN 8 YEARS, I HAVE RIGHTS TOO YOU KNOW, ’... Now, I guess it’s not your fault. We all get caught up in our business, managing the day to day tasks, dealing with ‘human’ employees and making sure everything is good between our four walls. Often times we forget about the ONE ONLY EMPLOYEE that can work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and never complain. Not realizing that if you just focus a tiny bit of effort into fixing what’s wrong with your website, it would start helping you, and probably become your TOP PERFORMING EMPLOYEE.
