We are always working hard behind the scenes to improve and grow as an organization. This week we hosted internal strategy sessions for our PBA team to discover the opportunities where we can improve to better serve our tenants, partners, investors, and employees. These sessions provide insights and output that will become critical input for our leadership team in our 2021 strategic planning process. As you can see from our image from Tuesday our sessions were virtual. Due to COVID-19 our normally in-person sessions needed to adjust to this new format. In continuation of celebrating #PBA55, we are looking back at The EUB Building. This property was a design-build PBA developed for the Energy and Utilities Board in the late 1970s in downtown Calgary at 5th Avenue and 6th Street SW. PBA worked with the EUB to accommodate the demands of a government agency and this effort produced a long-lasting tenant and landlord relationship of 25 years. Later, this 16 story, 250,000-square-foot building also housed Alberta Energy Regulators, Energy Resources Conservation Board and the Alberta Utilities Commission. The Dorian Hotel has quickly built up since we finished the main level concrete slab at the end of August. We are nearing the pouring of the second-floor slab and can now see the curtain wall. . But today we are showing off the window mock-ups for The Dorian. The mock-ups consist of two full size window panels with a decorative frit pattern on them. One window is vision glass which is transparent. The other is called a spandrel and it is opaque. The frit pattern will be ...present on all the glass within the curtain wall element on the building. It was called the Phillips Building and it once housed our head office. This building is unique as it was built in the international style with rich marble and it is only two stories despite its towering... neighbors. It was also located near one of our other previous assets the EUB building located directly behind it on 5th Avenue (which you can see in the below images). . Although the building still stands, we no longer own the building hence why the titular letters are now anchored in our lobby. We are a forward-thinking company, but we still appreciate our history and carry it forward with us. .
