Dunnottar Station Museum & Ponemah Beach Central Art Center 10.11.2020

We've got 300 page likes. That's an accomplishment. There have got to be more area residents and visitors who would be interested n the activities of the museum and the art centre. Help us spread the word of upcoming events (planning for the 2020 season has begun). Please tell people about this page & share posts when they appear in your feed. Get in touch if you have suggestions for activities, or if you might like to offer a class or run an event.... Get in touch if you'd like to volunteer at either the museum or the art centre. Perhaps you could help to improve this page (or should it be two separate pages?), provide other social media assistance, or help out with marketing in general. Let's make these community venues even more successful! Thanks for your support. See you all in the spring.

Here's another stunning photograph from the Interlake, by Catherine Sproat, one of the many talented artists who participate in our summer markets. Not only are we fortunate to have such beautiful scenery and amazing history in our region, but we have artists like Catherine who know how to capture it all.

What a fabulous class to wrap up another great season of arts and creativity at Ponemah Beach Central! Look at the gorgeous hats created by the students at Cathy Sutton's hat making workshop yesterday. Each one a masterpiece. Here's hoping Nepenthe Studios returns for more amazing classes at PBC next summer.

Let's all raise a glass to the Interlake Tourism Association's Volunteer of the Year, Don Bowles! As Station Master of the Dunnottar Station Museum, Don dedicates every weekend of the summer and so much more to the running and maintenance of the museum. Don coordinates volunteers, mans the station, welcomes, educates, and entertains visitors, & plans and carries out maintenance and improvement projects. Thanks for all you do, Don. ... Thanks to all of the volunteers who were recognized, and to those unsung heroes who make our communities better places to live.

The markets at PBC are done for the summer, but you can still catch art and music in Winnipeg Beach. Keep soaking up the local activities!

Yesterday's Artisan Market was a great time, thanks to everyone who participated. It takes a village to pull off these events, but when it all comes together, it's certainly worth while. We're done with markets this summer. We start planning for next summer on Monday! Watch this space.

One of the goals of the Ponemah Beach Central Volunteer Committee is to develop a place that celebrates and promotes art and wellness. The other reason is to have a place where community can gather. The Artisan Market is one of the events that we have organized to do just that and we couldn’t have done it without assistance of various folks in the community. I want to give a big shout out to Age Friendly Dunnottar, and the Ponemah Beach Canada Day Organizing committee for ...lending us canopies, they are much appreciated by all to keep the hot sun at bay, Whytewold Emporium for lending us tables, we grew so fast so quickly we didn’t have enough, the Village of Dunnottar for all their support, and for all the sharing of our posts on Social media by the various community Facebook pages, Love Local at The Lake, Meanwhile in the Village of Dunnottar, Meanwhile in the Village of Winnipeg Beach and many others, to help get the word out. This community Rocks! See more

Well the final Ponemah Beach Central Artisan Market was a success! I want to thank all the vendors who came and shared their wonderful creations. So much variety and so many unique items. Thank you to all of you who stopped in to check things out and supported out local artists/artisan and vendors. Our vendors put so much heart, soul and love into their work and it is so awesome when it’s appreciated by their community. Thank you to my fellow volunteers who helped pull t...he summer markets together, setting up, putting up posters and signs, keeping things running smoothly during the events and helping to tear down. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Watch out in the spring for next years market dates and if you are interested in adding your name to the vendors list, running a program at the centre that is related to art or wellness, or volunteering for this event or for the Ponemah Beach Central in general send us a message. email: [email protected] or call Village of Dunnottar: (204)389-4962
