BIG, EXCITING NEWS!!!! Red Deer Arts Council is excited to present the In the Neighbourhood Concert Series, which runs July and August, 2020 in different com...munities around Red Deer, in cooperation with community organizers, neighbourhood associations and block connectors. These live outdoor concerts will feature local musicians performing curbside for the residents of each selected neighbourhood, allowing for physical distancing with residents seated on their private front lawns and neighbours on adjacent public green spaces. Dates, times and exact locations will be communicated within the neighbourhood one day prior to the event in an effort to follow current provincial guidance on attendee limits. The Red Deer Arts Council is pleased to be able to support local performing artists through a grant provided by the City of Red Deer Culture Services. I have news! The Vinyl Cafe will be returning to CBC Radio for 10 weeks this summer!!!! July 5th-September 6th. And, it gets better, we’re back on in our old t...ime slot: Sundays at 12 noon (local time). I am so excited! So many of you have written to us over the last few months to tell us how you’ve been finding comfort in Stuart’s voice in these turbulent times. I have been too. In his voice, to be sure, but in more than thatin his world view. I hope that these shows bring you joy. I hope they help you recognize and enjoy the moments in your own life that are worth celebrating. I hope the stories make you laugh. I hope the music makes you dance. I hope the essays about towns and cities across the country allow you to travel in your imagination. And, more than anything else, I hope they allow you to escape into the gentle and generous world of Dave and Morley a world that is full of love and laughter.
