We are ready to rock and roll! Just a few minor tweaks and we will be renting to vacationers starting this Monday. We have our first booking for Unit 1 already. Friends and family have been asking for photos. So....a bit rushed in the taking..... but this is a pretty good presentation of what we have been working on for the past two years. ... With a lot of help from family and friends, particularly in the last couple of weeks, we managed to be ready for an open house last Sunday for the 3 bedroom unit. I think we will have another one this Sunday now that we have the one bedroom unit ready. This has been an incredible experience. It is very rewarding to see everything coming together so well. Thanks again to our amazing contractor, Chris Bosiak of W.R. Bosiak Construction Ltd., his Dad, Bill and of course all of the trades involved in making this happen. It was a pleasure to work with such an enthusistic and creative group of people.

We are so close now to the finish line. Everyone has been working extra hard with multiple trades on site every day. It is very gratifying to see all of our design choices working out so well. The quality of work and dedication to craftmanship by all the trades who have been involved makes this project amazing. We will post final photos at the end of next week. We are hoping to have an open house next Sunday so people can have the opportunity to see exactly what we have ...to offer potential customers. We will confirm the date and time in our next post. Until next time..... Steve and Diane Martin

Wow, this technology learning curve is a challenge. I just spent half an hour writing a post and lost it........ Our new build site is a busy place every day now as the trades all try to get their particular contribution to completion. In the winter, when we started, it was a struggle to compete with the cold and snow and the slippery slope on the driveway. Thankfully, with the nasty weather we had, we saw problems we hadn't anticipated and now have the opportunity to hav...e everything corrected for next winter. Now they need to start even earlier to try and beat at least some of the heat. Most people are not all that interested in the details involved in a new build, particularly one with the complexity of a passive home build. However, some may find relevance in knowing that we are using solid wood products. This includes the custom built kitchen cupboards and vanities as well as all interior doors and trim. We are conscious of the importance of potential health risks for those with environmental sensitivities. We purchased all new fridges, stoves, microwaves, kitchen supplies, metal beds, mattresses, sofas and soft chairs. We did choose to follow our dedication to solid wood products and recycling where possible. Two of the photos for today show the brightly painted, reclaimed solid wood furniture that is waiting in our garage for the move to the new build. In the paint store, they kept trying to steer me away from primary colours but I wanted something bright, cheerful and fun as part of the interior decor. You can let me know if you think it will work. As sunsets are important to us, we are including a few photos again today which were taken from our home balcony. We have been discussing the possibility of having guests, if they choose to participate, send us their favourite sunset photo taken from the balcony of the unit they rented. We would put the photos on our site and ask people to vote for the one they like the best. Please let me know if you feel this would be a fun way to share their stay and of course we would want to offer a free night for their next stay. Thanks for your interest. Diane and Steve
