Tonight, the PC Party of Newfoundland and Labrador sent a letter to Chief Electoral Officer Bruce Chaulk, demanding solutions to the undemocratic electoral proc...ess currently taking place. The people of the province deserve MORE TIME to apply for a mail-in ballot. There must be options made available for people not currently on the voters list. There must be additional safe options - in accordance with public health guidance - for limited in-person voting to allow those who need in-person assistance to be able to cast their ballots. My heart goes out to all th...ose who are infected, in isolation, and awaiting testing results this evening. I want to thank Dr. Janice Fitzgerald for her leadership, and I urge all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to follow her advice. Rest assured, Progressive Conservatives will do so. Once again, the people of our great province are being called to come together while staying apart. While challenging times are ahead, I have every confidence we will succeed. We will have more to say about what this means for our campaign and the broader provincial election in the days ahead. Our province deserves a thoughtful conversation about why it took so long for us to reach the right decision in postponing this election and how we hold our political leaders accountable, but that discussion must wait for another day.
