The County has had some difficulties with the online/phone voting. If you have confirmed your vote for Mayor and Councillor and then proceed to the French/Acadien CSAP, you may see a message about technical difficulties. DO NOT PANIC. As long as your Mayoral and Councillor votes are confirmed you are fine!
Here is the link to the All Candidates Event hosted by the Board of Trade on Thursday evening. Become an informed voter! Save this link and watch it at your leisure. https://video.ibm.com/channel/xjZ5ZzjFfNU
Someone recently asked if the Mayor could vote at Council meetings. "A Mayor is elected at large by all voters in a municipality and acts as a chairperson of council meetings. While the Mayor presides over council meetings, this position has the same single vote as other Councillors." https://beta.novascotia.ca//guide-new-municipal-councillor

The Parrsboro & District Board of Trade is pleased to announce that Mackenzie Ferdinand is this year's recipient of our bursary. This is given to the grad student who best demonstrates leadership and community involvement. Well done Mackenzie.
Here's a 6 min video that highlights the Economic Development Plan for Parrsboro. Be sure to complete the survey and give your feedback.
The Municipality is asking for feedback and we appreciate this attempt at openness. Let's make use of the opportunities to communicate with them.. Feedback is sought on the old town hall assessment (below). Also, see https://www.plancumberland.ca/econparrsboro - concerning the vision of Parrsboro and its economic development.
A bit of good news. We asked that the so-called public hearing on sewer and local improvement by-laws be postponed or the time lengthened. Tonight Municipal Council agreed unanimously to postpone the "public" hearing until council could meet in person. Even though the process will be the same (written submissions and reserved speaking time) it buys time! This was an unexpected plus.
