It is with great sadness PDR announces the passing of our Sunny! Sunny never missed a day of work at the office! She would be there to greet you at the top of the stairs with her ball. She will be deeply missed
We’re happy to help those working the front line! Thank you for all you are doing for the community!
A Thunder Bay bride and groom-to-be didn't let cancelled wedding plans stop them from celebrating their big day. They marked their "almost wedding day" with sig...ns on their lawn, which prompted an outpouring of joy in the neighbourhood. "We had people we didn't know...they actually dropped us off a wedding gift," said Maggie Murphy. "It just goes to show, when things are negative in the world a little bit of positivity can bring a community together and it just shows how loved we really are." See more
Today would have been a BEAUTIFUL day for the plunge. We hope you're all doing your part to stay home. This video comes from one family who decided to plunge anyway!!
**Please Read** This email was just sent to all plungers registered with the plunge for this year: Dear Friends, I hope this email finds you all well and copi...ng with your friends and family and all the different scenarios that are changing hour to hour in Canada and around the world. As has become apparent, it is obvious to all of us here at the Thunder Bay Polar Bear Plunge that we need to hold off plunging on our original date. We sincerely hope this is a precaution that helps Thunder Bay avoid the worst of this pandemic we are finding ourselves in, and we have no regrets in this decision. As a collective, we all have to move faster than this virus. As of today, we would like to postpone the plunge until early June, and run it from a different location - most likely a public beach like Wild Goose Bay. We're excited about trying a new format and instead of a plunge it may be a swim, but - we'll do it together! For now, we will hold on, in reserve, the donations that have come in thus far to each of you. If anyone has plunge cash they have collected, please be in touch so we can arrange to add that to the total. The charities this event supports are all looking at fundraising shortfalls not only as a result of this event being postponed, but with events we were all coordinating between now and the end of May. Times will be tight. That said - we're all in this together. We hope you and the ones you care about are healthy, safe and that this time of reduced closeness actually serves to bring us closer together in new ways. Thank you so much for your understanding, Sincerely, The Polar Bear Plunge Organizing Committee
All donations help!
Training Tip #4! There's no extreme too far when it comes to getting ready for the Plunge! If you haven't signed up yet, the time is now!! www.thunderbaypolarbearplunge.ca
