Peace Regional Eco Centre 08.12.2020

AN ECO CENTRE INFORMATION & TIP MOMENT We have had a lot of misuse as of late, with items that should not have been dropped off here and wanted to inform you of the proper recycling/disposal methods to handle these items. Pease do not recycle your used/unused masks, or leave them on the ground. Masks are not recyclable, and used masks are considered a bio-hazard to our staff members. All masks should be placed with the rest of your waste items to go to our landfill. Masks... coming from an institutional facilty, should be disposed of the same way as the rest of your bio-hazardous materials. Please do not drop off empty paint cans and or used painting supplies like rollers, brushes and trays. These items are considered waste, and can be placed with the rest of your waste items, or taken directly to our landfill. Please do not drop off black/clear garbage bags full of recyclable materials intended to be recycled. We have received many black garbage bags and some clear bags containing actual garbage. These are considered a bio-hazard to our staff members to handle. As a result, we will not open or sort any garbage bags with any materials and they will go directly to our landfill. Please remove all recyclable materials from any bags and sort accordingly. Please remember to smile, our cameras are always on and watching! https://www.prwmc.ca/recycling/

The Eco Centre will be closed for Thanksgiving Weekend! Access to all residential recycling for cardboard, paper, tin cans, plastic, Styrofoam, glass, paint, HHW, electronics, batteries, fluorescent tubes, grass/leaves and brush/branches will still be available for all of your recycling needs. Please do not overfill the bags and bins if they become full. The Put-N-Take will remain closed for the holiday weekend and for the foreseeable future. ... Please remember that dropping off any items onto the deck or ground, anywhere on site that is not part of our regular recycling excepted here at the Eco Centre, is considered illegal dumping and is a finable offence. Please hold on to any items you may have doubts or questions on and call us when we reopen after the holidays and we will be more than happy to answer your questions. Smile, our cameras are watching when you visit the Eco Centre! Wishing you a safe and healthy weekend from management and staff! http://www.prwmc.ca/recycling/
