Peace Region Agricultural Drone Field School It doesn’t matter if you’re just flying for fun or for a commercial operation, you need a drone pilot licence to legally fly a drone in Canada. Blackbird will offer subsidized online drone pilot training to agricultural producers in the BC Peace in 2020 through grant funding from BC Hydro’s Peace Agricultural Compensation Fund. These short, at-your-own-pace courses will prepare you to confidently take the Transport Canada drone pil...ot online exam for basic operations and become safe, knowledgeable drone pilots. Later on in the season (and pending the outcome of the COVID-19 pandemic), we will put that knowledge into practice during several field days to explore specific applications, including disease scouting, wildlife damage, drainage issues, etc. Go to www.blackbird.ca/wings for more information and to register.
