The Titan Christmas Spirit is alive at PWA. Even with these difficult times, we were still able to spread some Christmas cheer. Our Christmas projects for Christmas 2020 were: 1. Bandaged Paws - we donated money to Bandages Paws so the animals can have Christmas dinner, 2. Hayley's Angels - through Hayley's Angels, we distributed 7 - $100 Coop Gift Cards for 7 families in need 3. Grande Prairie Elders Shelter - the Elders will be receiving 2 trays of Christmas goodies and... a DVD player with movies. We couldn't do a lot this year but still managed to share some Titan Spirit! #Titanstrong

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 10, 2020 PWPSD’s process for announcing confirmed COVID-19 cases Grande Prairie, AB Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPS...D) would like to inform members of its school communities that there is an established process in place to provide information to the general public whenever a confirmed case of COVID-19 is identified in a school. While community members may hear through personal conversations that a student or staff member associated with a particular school has tested positive for COVID-19, rest assured that PWPSD is committed to releasing information whenever a positive case has been determined by AHS to have attended a PWPSD school while infectious, using the following communication plan: 1 Parents/guardians and school staff who are close contacts of the case are notified via an email and attached letter, sent by the school. 2 Parents/guardians and school staff who are not close contacts of the case are notified via a second email and attached letter, sent by the school. 3 The following day, PWPSD publicly releases the information to local media, and publishes it on the PWPSD website and the affected school website, and announces it on PWPSD’s social media channels Facebook and Twitter, @pwpsd. The affected school is then notified to share the post on the school’s Facebook page. Whenever there is a positive case associated with a PWPSD school, out of respect for the individual and in accordance with AHS guidelines, no further information or identifying details will be shared about the individual. -30-

Parent-teacher interviews are on November 18th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Interviews will occur over the phone OR via video conferencing (based on parent preference). This year we are again asking parents to book their interview times with teachers through www.schoolinterviews.ca. This will allow parents to schedule their interviews ahead of time, shorten wait times, and allow parents to plan their evenings more efficiently. Instructions on video conferencing/phone interviews w...ill be included in the www.schoolinterviews.ca software. The site will be open for bookings at NOON on November 10th. An email will be sent home with a link that will take you to the booking site. On November 10th at noon, please click on the link, select the teachers/courses that your child has and book your interviews. Please note that we will again host parent teacher interviews via video conferencing. If we run into technical issues or any other concerns the teacher will switch to a phone interview. Please have your phones handy just in case.

Please read ALL of the info below: Outbreak declared at Peace Wapiti Academy based on past confirmed cases The two past cases at Peace Wapiti Academy (PWA) that were confirmed on Friday, October 23 and Friday, October 30 meet the Alberta Health definition of an outbreak in a school: An outbreak is declared when there are 2 or more confirmed cases in a school setting within a 14-day period where disease could have been acquired or transmitted in the school. This morning, the attached letter from AHS was emailed to all PWA parents/guardians and any staff or visitors who may have been in the school on October 19-20 and 26, 2020.
