Peachland 50 Plus Profile of the Month... The PDRS 50+ Centre activity leader for woodcarving is Norm Taylor. Norm was raised in the Princeton area and following a career with the RCMP retired from his last posting in Winnipeg, eventually settling in Westbank in 1998. He joined the Peachland carving activity that winter when the activity was led by Dennis Hudson (deceased) of Peachland.... Dennis turned the activity over to Len Teeple (deceased) of Westbank and Norm became the woodcarving activity leader in January 2014. Norm began his part time woodcarving interest in 1993 and commenced instructional carving in 1996 while in Texas. He continues to take carving classes to enhance his skills. Peachlands woodcarving activity has a group carving project each year and Norm is available to assist each caver as required, from the novice to the experienced. Norm continues to reside in West Kelowna with his wife Barbara and he is also a member of the Kelowna Carving Club. The Peachland Carving Club meets Monday's from 7-9 PM at the 50 Plus Centre in Peachland. New woodcarvers are welcome. Norm can be contacted at 250-707-0875.
