Our bakery and cafe, RPM Bakehouse is now officially open in Jordan Village. Join us Thursday to Sunday - 10am to 5pm. A one-stop shop for baked goods, house-made juices, seasonal produce - prepared by our team with the same care, integrity and dedication to quality you've learned to rely on from us and Restaurant Pearl Morissette. For the first time ever - you'll be able to pop in a place and grab a bottle of our current wine releases. It's as close as we've ever come to ha...ving something resembling a bottle shop. Set up with a bite and a drink on the cozy patio out front, equipped with a fire pit and space heaters or take some fresh-baked goods to go. The choice is yours!

Beauty of a winter day at 3953, Jordan Rd. Shadows and sunlight, straight lines and puffs of clouds. Our old green barn shining in the middle of it all. We don’t know exactly how old the barn or the black walnut tree are, but we do know the original owners of the place we now call ours moved here in 1811 and built the barn soon after. ... We imagine the magnificent and now-ancient black walnut tree that points the way, inspires and shelters us every day, was planted around that time as well. Maybe right after the barn was finished. Wine in Architecture and Architecture in Wine. Things we don’t usually talk about unless, of course, you’ve logged in one of Svetlana’s zoom tastings and heard her discuss La Sagrada Família or Notre Dame when it comes to different vintages. Join us January 27th at 11:00 am for a digital workshop where architecture meets wine featuring @catherinemo @chybikkristof... @makaiserwine Svetlana Atcheva Free admission, https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/designing-building-a-winery-tic

In the quiet of these January days - after harvest, pre-wine transfers, pre-bottling chaos - we finally have a chance to revisit some recent vintages. This is in praise of the fabulous 2017 and the vibrant wines of grace, crystallinity and fluid symmetry it birthed. Thankfully, it was a bigger than usual harvest, and we had the chance of producing more of our top cuvées. The reds are now gone, the whites are nearing the point when they'll disappear in the depths of our librar...y while we attempt to forget about them for the next 5 years or more. And yet, we're still smitten every time a bottle of the 2017 Dix-Neuvième gets cracked. So vibrant, so young, so effortless in its elegance - "round like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel, never ending or beginning on an ever-spinning wheel." It's our proudest Chardonnay moment to date and we don't say this lightly. And then, of course, there's the Black Ball Riesling. If there's one cuvée that through the years has encapsulated what it means to listen and observe, how to trust the process of giving the wine freedom to express itself, and what it takes to walk the path that it is charting for you - it is the Black Ball. The 2017 is arguably the most scintillating of them all and is "like a snowball down a mountain, or a carnival balloon, like a carousel that's turning running rings around the moon.’ To read more about it : https://pearlmorissette.com//po/the-windmills-of-our-minds

Last night’s first Discovery Experience brought us lots of joy and the unveiling of a jealously-guarded treasure bottle from the library archive. Long sold-out, but brimming with life, this 2011 Pinot Noir has certainly entered a new stage of finesse. The 2011 growing season was one of contrasting weather and gifted the wine round and deep crimson fruit as well as gently vibrant tension, which have helped it age with grace and elegance. The perfume soars and blooms with rose, black cherry, and delicate spice. Lush fruit envelops the palate, flowing, yet delineated with precision by the gentle energy of the wine. Lissome tannins braid themselves into an intricate structure that continuously expands and contracts ever-so-gently in ripples of sensuousness.
