PearTree Painting is not just about painting! This past week I took on a siding project along with TVL Contracting. These boards are made of a composite concrete material. They are durable and visually appealing. Here are a few pics. I will post some finished project pictures soon.

A lot of my projects lately have required a lot of patience and skill. Professional painters don’t often use tape for borders for a number of reasons. Anything but the most expensive tapes (like frog tape) bleed. They also create a line that doesn’t account for the bumps and crevices in any 90 degree drywall or wood corner. Most professional painters can cut a line better then a tape line allows. Here are just a few examples of some recent work.

Why hire a professional painter? I mean, anyone can paint...right? Well, yes and no. Painting is different than most other trades in that most anyone can pick up a brush and paint. But there really is more to it than that. And it’s not just about painting a straight line. The prep work is important! Caulking, sanding, patching, and knowing what product to use in different circumstances. There is skill and knowledge necessary to do the job right!... A lot of jobs I’ve done recently have involved fixing mistakes made over the years by well meaning DIY homeowners. And once the paint is on and dry...fixing it down the road is A LOT more work! Plus, a professional can do the job much more quickly, efficiently and effectively. It really does make a big difference! I often hear people comment that they don’t have the patience for painting. Truth is, it’s more about technique then patience. Technique is something that is perfected by learning and practice... that’s why you can know that a professional painter will add value to your home and do it right the first time! Here are some pictures of the type of prep work often needed...and yes, all these projects ended up looking better then new!
