The Prince Edward County Affordable Housing Corporation is recruiting for new board members. PECAHC is an independent non-profit corporation established in December 2018 with the mission of increasing the supply of affordable housing in Prince Edward County. The term of appointment will expire in October 2022 which may be renewed for a further four-year term upon approval of County Council. Person(s) interested in joining the Board must be committed to the work of the organi...zation and have the knowledge and skills in one or more area of Board governance, policy, finance, programs or advocacy. Most important applicants must be passionate about the development of affordable housing. Treat Hull has made the decision to resign as Board President effective October 19th. Treat has been a driving force behind the formation of the Corporation and the need for affordable housing development in Prince Edward County. Treat will continue to be an integral part of the Corporation as a Director on the Board. Peter Landry has been appointed as the Board President effective October 19th. Peter is an accomplished public affairs professional specializing in public relations, research, policy development, and government relations. Peter has spent time in the private sector as a managing partner and vice president of leading firms while serving in senior roles within various ministries of the Province of Ontario.

The need for affordable housing in Prince Edward County has never been greater. July real estate statistics show a dramatic increase in the average house price year over year in turn putting considerable pressure on the rental market. PECAHC is currently engaged with various parties to advance the development of affordable housing in the County in an effort to address this critical issue,
