Posted @withregram @fairycreekblockade BREAKING BEAR HENRY FOUND AFTER SURVIVING 74 DAYS IN THE BUSH Bear Henry has been found after being missing since November 27, 2021. Bear is agenderqueer, Two Spirit Indigenous person. Drivers from Gemini Logging discovered Bear on the road at approximately 2:30PM and dropped Bear off at the Lake Cowichan Tim Horton’s, providing them some cash to buy some food.... Bear’s van got stuck at Caycuse Main’s mountain top, out of sight of the helicopters efforts to find them as they were flying too far south. Bear lived on beans and snow and while they’ve lost some weight, they were looking energetic and happy to have been found. Bear and their family are ecstatic that Bear is home and are asking for privacy over the next few days.

A warm and heartfelt thanks for the incredible outpouring of support for the folks at RAP camp. Nobody should be outside in a tent in the cold and snowy weather, but the last few days have been much more bearable due to the abundance of food, clothing, blankets, supplies and community in the warming tent. Thanks to North Park Neighbourhood Association Anawim and so, so many others. #housingfirst #communitycare #peersvictoria #RAP

Update: After 16 years of attempts to build a positive working relationship with the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), Living in Community’s Steering Committee... has decided to remove the VPD as a Steering Committee member. Our Steering Committee made this consensus-based decision after careful consideration of both the successes and challenges of our relationship with the VPD over the years. While this decision ends LIC’s formal partnership with the VPD, we are all members of this community and therefore are always in relationship. This transition point is an opportunity to reevaluate the relationship, and LIC is open to a change in the future. However, in order for this relationship to repair and transform into one that is centered in transparency, respect, and reciprocity, there must first be a clearly demonstrated commitment from the VPD to protecting and advancing the rights of sex workers. Read our full statement on our website, under the 'News' heading: https://livingincommunity.ca/

We were a little worried about how the gift bag drive would go this year due to the barriers of the pandemic, but once again the community very generously and thoughtfully delivered, including a lovely bag that arrived this afternoon! We have given out many bags and will continue to give them out all week making sure everyone has access to holiday treats. #nonprofit #supportsexworkers #holidaygiving
