With great regret and disappointment we have to cancel the The PEI rifle Association’s provincial championship. There has been an order issued by the department of national defense Restricting use of facilities so third parties Are not permitted to use the DND facilities due to Covid. I’ll send out a better description of what’s going on behind the scenes so the members understand the dynamics. We are looking at options to reschedule the event and possibly shoot it in another province on a private range

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of PEI Provincial Rifle Association past president Chuck Bachmanek. Over the past several years he conducted a long and courageous battle against cancer. Chucks' passion for the shooting sports was evident to all who had the honour of knowing him. A long time Canadian Forces member, he travelled many times to Connaught Range for the annual Service Conditions championships, and to Bisley, U.K. to represent Canada. Closer to... home, his zest for perpetuating the sport will continue to be felt for many years/decades due to the training and assistance he offered to both new and accomplished club members. Rest easy Chuck, your battle is over and somewhere out there, I have little doubt that you are taking to the mound for yet another chance to chase the V-Bull... #DCRA #fclass #bisley

While we are waiting patiently for the Range access we all love. Sept 30th Wednesday looks good. We have our APM on Oct 3rd and 4th. Anyone want to help out reach out and Kris could use the help. We are planning quietly behind the scenes so we can shoot small bore this winter. We will need a work party to help get York ready for small bore shooting. More to come on that later. We will have Covid restriction for everyone's safety. We should have a meeting in Octobe...r. Wehave to check the health restrictions. Currently 15 indoors and 20 out. That could be interesting but I think we could manage the last weekend of the month? Maybe work on an electronic meeting. I need someone to help run the meeting and if you know how to "zoom" that might be a big help. I

Another good week of shooting in the bank. Congratulations to Ian, Ken and Kris for a strong showing in NS. Congrats to Dave for beating Calvin on one stage of the pistol match. We shot Saturday and Sunday and hope we get 3 days this week. It was nice to see some members we haven't seen in awhile. CYA at the range.

This must be 2020! Bad news for PEI Rifle Association. Until further notice the range is shut pending an inspection from Gagetown. No idea how long this is going take. When I have more information I will pass it on. We may have to delay our APM. There are foxes digging into the mound They want to have the holes filled in and inspected by DND. This could days or weeks or months?

Its Sunday June 28th and another week of shooting is complete. The Club hosted 3 days of shooting Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Wednesday is our recreational day and we started early and finished later. Thanks to Kris and Chris. Saturday was long range rifle shooting F-Class and Target class. A great way to test your rifle out to 600 yards. The Pistol shoot on Sunday was well attended as well. Next week is our Atlantic bubble starts so we may have our first visitor...s from NB out Saturday. Wednesday is cancelled due to the PEI Regiment needs. Saturday and Sunday are a go. Watch for details on Range watch on Facebook. A member of the club Kent McRae will be stopping out at various shoots to see if individuals want to help CCFR with donations for their legal fight against the OIC etc. This is an individual decision l The club and DCRA both objected to the legislation, but must remain non-political due to our amateur athletic association status. Club members can do what they wish as long as they don’t speak on behalf of the PEI Rifle Association As the Atlantic bubble forms the club will host several matches for long range rifle. Watch this page and PEI Range watch for full details in the future. If you are interested in helping see Kris Feng he could use a few volunteers. It was nice to be back on the range after a brief sabbatical. The club has a good energetic core with promising new members and more youth than seen in recent history so as old guys retire we are seeing youth take over. Happy Canada day folks I hope to be at the range on Sunday. See more
